Outside of spending $350 for the wireless pad what does everyone do with the remote control and key? Its only a matter of time before mine is at the bottom of the lake.

These work well. I added a bolt on hitch to my travel trailer to be able to install one of these and put spare keys to everything on the trailer in it.

Hadn't used it in 2 years until I drove to the storage lot to pick up my trailer and realized that I had forgot the keys. Just as I was about to drive back home, I remembered the hitch safe. Saved me a few gallons of gas and the time driving back.

For a more DYI, I have tried putting my key inside a simple balloon. It works well enough but is single use.

Are you talking like a prison pocket? What if you’re already storing other stuff there. Asking for a friend

I put my keys in my sling pack that also has my EDC pistol, knife, bug spray, and an extra pair of boxers, socks, and long sleeve shirt.

I have a small roll top dry bag. It's roughly 6"x8". Just big enough for my keys, wallet and phone. I put it in a zippered side pocket of my tackle bag while out on the water or in a zippered pocket of my pack when out hiking or hunting. Keeps everything consolidated, safe and dry.

What kind of boat? We have a lockbox in the boat console that holds everything important including truck keys.

And it’d be tough to use with a trailer hooked up.

Believe it or not, the only time I’ve seen truck keys end up in the water was when the old man gave his wife too much shit as she tried to back the trailer down. True story.

I had one of these bolted on the inside channel of my frame rail on my 2013. Works great for a spare key.

Get a metal key cut and lock the keys in the truck somewhere.

Metal key will never fail as a result of water or salt.

This one would be even better since it has the cover to keep dirt and stuff out of it.

I like locking keys in truck with spare key. My issue is getting in water to get on waverunner with key in hand or pocket. Or getting off at dock to go get truck. Once on boat or jet ski the key is easily stored. Great suggestions!!!

My jet ski has a small compartment for my keys. I can affirm jumping in the water will not damage the key. I did however open up the smart key and my chevy’s key fob to dry the circuit boards with a hair dryer

My boat has a glove box. That is where my keys go as soon as I get in the boat after launching.

I usually put the keys in the tail pipe or up inside one of the rear fenders. Lots of places to hide them on the truck that no one will find.
