It looks interesting to me, and they build to fit 1st gen Tundra's. Not grossly expensive and some worthwhile upgrades are available, like the solar array. 5 month lead time and having to drive to them in Colorado to pick it up is a bit of a downside, but mostly the 5 month wait. Still a bit interesting. Not the most aesthetically pleasing to look at, but they make good use of the space available. Function over form.

Now this is some shit I have not seen before. Website says it can fit a full size mattress across-ways? Do you think that's actually true?

Kinda pricey for what it is (a box)... But worth looking at for me.

I thought being 2022 and the cost of materials and labor the price was probably fair, with a fair profit to be made. But that's up to the individual to decide. I like the light weight aspect and a few thoughtful options. Solar, sliding side windows and maybe the propane bottle mount. It says it adds 9 inches each side beyond the bed rails, so I think that would add enough length for a queen size mattress. Something to consider for light duty, off grid camping at the beach. Sure beats sleeping in a tent. No creepy crawly's, and a lot softer too.

Agreed, I like the light weight. I'm actually trying to get away from a tent camping setup but canceled my SuperPacific order yesterday (they wanted me to drive up to Portland from CO to get it in the middle of winter, otherwise they'd charge me $50 per day storage fee). Interesting thing to come up on the forum today.

To each his own but personally I think it's an incredibly fugly angular aberration to inflict on the smooth lines of a Gen 1. And while a bit roomier than a typical topper, it's still primitive camping in cramped quarters without the simple accommodations of a lightweight dedicated camp trailer. Things like a table with upright seating, a sink, stove and refrig, a water tank, a real bed, and maybe a shower and toilet.

FWIW, I've camped in my Leer topper for well over a hundred nights and made do, but a detachable, towable trailer with the amenities and storage is my overwhelming preference. For the $6 grand or so you'd pay for that abomination one could source a decent camp trailer. Just my opinion....
