XSP lug nut socket

Good Morning gentleman. New member here. 2011 XSP owner purchased new. Great truck, no problems at all. Till now. I had new tires installed at Costco around a year ago and wouldn’t you know it, they failed to put my anti theft lug nut socket back in the glove box. I have been to 2 dealers, called Toyota, ordered multiple sockets from Amazon. Can’t get the size right. It’s a seven externally splined nut on a 20 inch BBS wheel. Does anyone have any idea what it is? Part number, size, anything? Glad I haven’t had a flat. Thanks in advance for any help given. David.

 

Been there and why I will never install locking lugs on a vehicle again.

Some use a socket about the right size and hammer it on to remove the lug. Then carefully loosen w a breaker bar. Ruins the locking lug so have extra lugs on hand.

And Amazon sells kits that have many pieces, to remove various locking type lugs and sizes. One kit, usually around 50 bucks, on up to 100ish and they can be had with 5-9 pieces on up to 20+ pieces for removal of most styles.

lastly, lots of vids on YT of various removal techniques.

I'd go back to Costco and see if they have it.
They might have a box of them.

My dealership failed to return my lock key on a tire rotation years ago.
I went back to get it and they had a small box full of different lug keys.
They kept trying until they found one that fit and gave it to me.

Are you referring to all your lug nuts or one of these per wheel?
It sounds like your describing a TRD spline nut made by McGard.

Are you sure it is 7 splines and not 8?

I have TRD lug nut kit.
It has 8 spline nuts for regular lug nuts and a locking key nut for security.

When I bought this kit I ordered a spare locking key, a spare spline key, and a spare locking lug from Mcgard.
I keep one set on the truck and one in the garage.

If you can figure out what size it is, you can order a key off Amazon.
Some of the reviews read the 22MM fits Tundras, you have to confirm that though.
A review also states it has 8 splines.

Thanks for everyone’s help. What I ended up doing was removing the anti theft nut by driving a 7/8ths impact socket onto the nut and removing them. I replaced them with a factory lug nut purchased from the dealership. Not what I envisioned replacing the pads and rotors. It’s been a week dealing with this. No more anti theft garbage for me. Thanks again for the help! David.

 

You only think anti-theft gear is garbage because of your experience. Did they forget to give your key back…yes. But you also forgot to ask for it back. 50-50 responsibility at the least. Guess whose wheels and tires aren’t getting stolen? Mine!
I sincerely hope things go better for you going forward.

 

Any breech of something that is secured is typically a function of available time. I don't leave my vehicle anywhere that thieves will have unlimited time to get through the wheel locks. It's the same with a firearms safe, regardless of how good it is, the ability to get into it is based on how much time the thieves have. The better the safe, the longer it will take. I don't think anyone really wants to put that much effort into taking my TRD wheels anyway.
