Just recently picked up a Kodiak Canvas 7206 and test fit it in my driveway. I did have to do a bit of modification using pine 1x scraps ripped to fit and grooved in the center using my table saw for my tonneau cover, and upsize to 3 inch clamps, but it works perfectly and would go straight on with no problem at all with a stock bed. Below is a video i made of install tips for Tundra double cabs.

Looking forward to getting out and camping, I will update the thread with my experiences and adventures.

I have taken it camping once and will take it again for a multi-day trip to Colorado at the end of August.

Benefits: off the ground! Spacious. Easier to get mostly flat as you have flexibility in how you park the truck.

Downsides: doesn’t quite perfectly seal up to keep mosquitos or airborne bugs out like a standard tent does, but I haven’t had any bites or anything. Can’t access all your stuff in the bed. If you need to travel, tent has to come down.

I like it, but if I did it all again I might think twice about going for a ground-based Kodiak model instead. But being elevated off the ground is a huge benefit that cannot be understated. Haven’t had rain, but I know I’ll sure be happy several feet up off the wet ground if I do, and ground based bugs don’t make their way up really, and no need to put down a tarp or fuss with wet grass.

I have a bed rug liner which also makes it even more comfortable. It’s like a little cabin inside.

I have always thought those would be a quality choice. I have a cap so went a different direction. We also test our setup in the yard.KWINqpGIwXz1LgchoHrde4hMqrv9vW1hWYNF9Z7__8c60daf5336a50cba95d8fe4227c5e50724eebc2.jpg
