Spray the nest first as they’ll start dropping. A few may come towards u (did for me) and I just sprayed the soap / water at them and they fly away or drop from the mixture
Prob want the nest as empty as possible first so less chance of you being attacked

Would working at night be better, since they're largely inactive at night? And to decrease the chances of getting stung even further, using soap and water from a super-soaker, which you pay the kid next door to use?

Maybe, but going on a roof at night may not work out well if u lose ur footing lol.
My spray bottle worked plenty fine and shot a good distance. With a super soaker you may be pulling more, so longer delay to shoot it out

Early morning and evening are the best times. I just use the foaming commercial spray.

Douse their door with a steady stream so there's enough to kill those that come out angry, then saturate the nest so it soaks in and kills the ones inside. Redo the doorway spray, and let it sit overnight so any stragglers come back to the nest and die as well.

Soapy water didn’t do shit other than make them angry. I feel like they could still fly just fine. Maybe my mixture was off or I used the wrong soap. Got one of the two down safely but going to the store to get the commercial killer for the others.

Dawn dish soap kills most bugs. Ive killed earwigs and beetles with it, but i go heavy on the soap. Never tried it on wasps, though.

Heavy on the soap like Adam suggested, and if I go that way I use vinegar instead of water; but I do love the phrase "better living through chemistry". A few squirts of Raid does the trick.

 That’s what I used. I feel like I went almost 50/50 soap and water.

Maybe wasps in their part of the country are weak? I've never heard of anyone here using soap

I was thinking of something like a Tesla add-on that would provide a "bubble" of negative charged ions that would "hover" around the Tesla when it's parked in the garage (source of this would be provided through your at-home plug in system). Then, when you park the Tesla and plug it in, the surface of the Tesla would add a slight positive charge to the hydrogen atoms in the water molecules on the vehicle's surface; the positive charged hydrogen atoms would then seek out the negative charged ions and thus lift the water off of the surface of the Tesla while carrying away any dirt/debris from the vehicle's surface.
