    I painted all 4 calipers twice and also removed the front tow hooks and painted them with the same small can of paint. It goes a long way!

    Bought the TRD center caps, pushed out the emblem, then took off the Sport center caps and pushed out the chrome Toyota emblem and the added some glue and pushed the TRD ones on .

    Painting the calipers red and or adding red calipers cover is no different than buying a fake chrome hood scoop from AutoZone and then raving your engines are your local Walmart.
    looking for attention "Hey look at me I got me a supercharger".

    Let me paint a picture for you.

    I know I am going to get a lot of negative comments on my statement but
    unless you have a genuine TRD big brake Kit or any other well-respected BBK, don't do it.

    Get off your high horse man. I have no need or even desire a big brake upgrade. I can afford it but I don’t need it. Don’t know where you come from but Walmart is the last place I’d go to get attention.

    How about this... why do people switch out to a pro grill, TRD caps on wheels and/ or other mods? Are we all pretending to have truck models that we really don’t? It’s a long shot for people who think like you... maybe we just like the look! Maybe the red calipers just goes with the theme of other red parts of the car; for the same reason people de-chrome or color match mods, etc. Many of us like the look and not necessarily pretend that we have something that we don’t.

    I did the same thing to my 13 crewmax.painted the calipers red and let dry then ordered TRD stickers from eBay and installed them on the the calipers and 4 coats of high temp auto clear.

    I know this a really old post but maybe you can still answer a question. Did you have to do any prep work to your calipers so the decal will stick good. I’m going to do mine like that and I was wondering if I need to sand the caliper to get a smoother surface for the decals.

    This is the kit I used. There is enough to do multiple coats on all four. Good stuff! I did mine while they were on. Use something on the floor because when you are working upside down it drips a bit off brush!!:). I have mine on the build. I like the product and is holding up very nicely!!:)

    I cleaned them with 409 and removed any dust and debris then wiped them down with alcohol and was good to go!

    No not by much,, it was 60 sumtin for sure. But to me it was worth it, I did it, it’s good paint, and it does as advertised!:). Good luck.

    1794 on the inside - PRO on the outside
    I’d sand and smooth as much as possible, the the calipers have a grainy finish, the more prep you do the better the results. I’ve painted several of my vehicles calipers and noticed the more time I spent the better they turned out. Final clean with degreaser in every crevice is most important.

    I picked up a GX kit from Yota Guy's shop, they came in regular silver. I'd like to get them powder coated in Red. I've read/watched different opinions on whether they should be disassembled prior to powder coating or not. Seems like the heat of the brakes get as hot as the oven anyway. Thoughts? Facts?
