Toyota dealership replaced rear ABS harness and sensors but it didnt fix it .I just ordered 2 front sensors to replace them myself . No ABS lights on No dash lights on only traction control followed by a short limp mode then no dash lights and drives normal . During toyotas scan test they said the left rear sensor was dropping out so they replaced it and then they said the rear intermotor harness was bad replaced it and still not fixed . Replaced right rear sensor but still didnt help . Toyota said all tone rings and wheel bearings were in good shape no chips or cracks. Also no codes have been set . Anyone have this problem if so what was the cause and fix . Thanks in advance . Love my truck but kinda gets old not being able to get it fixed.

Rear wheel bearings allowing too much side to side play? Screws up the air gap between the sensor and tone ring..

Toyota checked them and ive checked them and cant feel any play or hear any noise at all
I washed my truck just a few minutes ago and soaked all 4 abs sensor with water then took it for a test drive and abs activated almost every time so iam wondering if one or more of the connectors has a short or corrosion thats causing the abs & traction control to trip. Do you know if its ok to use a small amount of dioelectric grease on those abs connections ? Iam going to replace the front ones in a couple of days i just thought it might protect the connections . Also ive been thinking about buying a Extool D7 scanner to take care of my toyota's because these dealerships service dept in my area have very poor customer service ratings .

May be worth doing a battery test? Not sure how similar the systems are yet, but I once had a 2001 Yukon that did the same thing you’re describing. Routine 5 mph ABS activation, intermittent ABS light that didn’t coincide with symptoms, no codes. Got frustrated after 2 shops and just yanked the ABS fuse after too many parking lot close calls. Replaced the battery 2 months later after some other electrical demons came up. On a whim, replaced ABS fuse just to see and it worked flawlessly. Never had the problem again.

Thats a good idea the battery is one yr old but i will test itand the charging system because ive learned the number one rule of electricity is there are no rules . Ihad q battery short out yrs ago and everything electrical was a mess lol . Lucky for me as a 18yr kid this old guy at the parts store said ive seen this before its your battery .New battery and everything was fine . I think iam chasing a broken wire or corroaded connection somewhere problem is finding it . Also i talk to a t retired oyota tech and he said on tundras with the abs sensors at the 3 oclock position they take a beating .he also said those can fail inside and still test ok in a shop but when they are on the road vibrating they can drop voltage and cause the abs to activate . He said they cut some of those open and found servere corrosion inside right at the 90 degree turn. ( Life is just one big school )

Well took my truck back to the Toyota dealership and the service manager hooked up his scan tool and we went for a drive and thank God the abs was activating when braking and singnal was dropping out on the left rear sensor again after replacing the rear sensors and harness. So they are going to tear the hub down and replace it with a new hub assembely.for free so i cant complain .
