@TheBeast Straight from Sandpoint, 15.5 hrs. We were in Blanchard which was 14.5 hrs.
However on the way there we went to Ketchum first which was 9.5hrs. then to Boise, then to Mccall, then to CDA, then to Blanchard where my dad lives and stayed at Stoneridge resort on the Gold Course. It was awesome. 95 dollars a night for a sweet room with full kitchen and living room, rec center with pool, hotter, sauna, indoor basketball, racquetball, badminton, mini-golf, and of course we were on the golf course and played with grandpa. Great deal.
on the way home I actually got the family up and out the door at 5am and we were home with a few stops and a long lunch by 8:45pm. I don't particularly like driving more than 4 hrs or so, but it wasn't really bad.

@TheBeast the 150 to 160 step is nice also. The slight increase in effective head tube angle is an added bonus. I made the same adjustment on my Bronson and have been happy with it.

new 200mm rotors in. A bit of rubbing, tried most of the tricks in the book but still a light rubbing sound. maybe it will go away as the new rotors are a bit thicker than old ones and the pads are relatively new.
any tricks ? I tried the business card between pads/hold brake while tightening bolts etc...

Is the disc centered between the pads? I installed new brakes recently and getting the pads to not rub or have a huge amount of lever travel was the biggest PITA. Was good for a while then during a ride started to rub so ended up taking the wheel off and shifted the hub over on the axle and was fine after. Guess I was lucky it was finger tight.

Bicycles seem like black magic compared to motorcycles with adjustments and stuff. I just turned the cones same distance to shift everything over on the axle and was good. Adjustments like that where barely over finger tight and your bearings are grinding seem so weird compared to a dirt bike where you just torque the wheel between the dropouts and all is good, no 'feeling adjustment' needed.

    it’s a lot cheaper if you just buy the frame and source your own parts. For instance I have X01/GX drivetrain, Hope brakes, and I9 wheels with hydra hubs for about 2/3rds the cost of a built one from Evil. If you can wait until the end of the season, you might be a able to score a frame at a big discount, too. I got my Wreckoning frame for $1600 when they were normally $3500;

That's pretty sweet. I grew up on Walmart bikes, so these high end performance machines just have some sticker shock. Years ago I thought I was spending big bucks on a $600 bike. Now I see that there is a much higher ceiling for bikes.

Have you checked the usual spots online?

    fanatik.com (Bellingham, WA)
    bikeparts.com (Golden, CO)
    jensenusa.com

Also, there are a couple good LBS in Colorado that has some great gear and if they don’t can usually get it relatively quick:

    C3 Bike Shop (Golden, CO)
    High Gear Cyclery (Avon, CO)

Yeah, they can get up there.

I used to work in the bike industry. Though, I make MUCH more now, I still find it difficult to purchase these things at full price. I still remember what my industry discount did to the retail price of stuff.
I have... I just really wanted a Sensus Bachelor Pad V2, but it's a product that doesn't exist.

How this will probably go... I will buy a Race Face T2, then a week after I receive it, I'll get an email from Sensus that the pads are in stock.

If you're not bound by an NDA or loyalty, would you share the discount percentage you got? PM if you don't want it blasted everywhere? I'm only curious, as I don't actually MTB.

Since moving 4 years ago I rarely ever transport my bike by vehicle. We can ride great trails directly from our house.

A family member use to own a bike shop. I don’t remember the exact percentage of discount but many times I went from not being able to afford a really nice bike to easily affording. However this seemed very brand dependent.

I got to ride and own some very high end bikes. The bikes far exceeded my skill set but nonetheless it was awesome privilege.

Now I mostly stick with Giant bikes because of their value and design. They are kinda like the Toyota of the bike world. They don’t introduce anything groundbreaking (conservative) but they always provide a solid performance.

I sent you a PM, but overall, what @Oey12 said is accurate. Things significantly out of reach are easily affordable. It makes sense though. If you're at a LBS or a local/regional chain retailer, you're probably not getting paid mass monies. Your vendors want you riding the best of their stacks, so you can sell with experience. It's beneficial to both parties to have those interacting with end customers on the hottest, most baller shit of the season. My Rocky rep would come in and get mega stoked when he'd see my dirty-ass bike in the work stand. He'd always tell me "Ride the piss out of that thing on your days off, and always leave it in the work stand while you're here." It worked. I sold a couple after people saw it on the stand and I offered a test ride.

Makes sense. Hands on marketing is always more effecting than a magazine ad. Real world experience is also a great tool for sales. I'm way more inclined to listen to a sales pitch from a guy that owns/uses an item I'm interested in than a guy who just works there.

Just make sure your bight contact point is backed out and your calipers are full seated. My biggest issues is dirt and calipers extending unevenly. Lots of cleaning maintenance.
