What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Dealer? What did you pay to have it installed? Did you swap tpms sensors for the PRO wheels or put new ones in? I have PRO wheels and suspension waiting to go on.

 

Love the interior but seeing those car wash mats getting dragged across your truck is making my stomach hurt and blood pressure skyrocket.

When I was installing my cat shield I found a snap-on wrench that was left on a bolt from the factory. I had the truck over a year before I found it. Really surprised it was still hanging on.

 

Installed the Start-X remote starter. No splicing. Took an hour to install, most time disassemble/reassemble dash and zip tying wires and module. 3x lock press to start, press unlock to get in, insert key to ON position, tap the brake and off to the races. TPMS sensor light flashes when you get in because it is electronically linked to the anti-theft system, but goes off when you tap the brake (if you tap the brake before you insert the key, anti-theft system kicks in and shuts off the engine). If you want to shut off the truck with the remote before you get in it for some reason, simply press the lock button again 3x, and the engine shuts down. I like the fact that the truck doesn’t shut off when you hit unlock and get in the truck, unlike the factory remote start on my wife’s Sequoia. Without question one of my favorite mods, definitely the best $215 I’ve spent, and I spent $215 on some primo Canadian weed when I was in college.

Yes, and it worked out perfectly. After the second coat, it muted the chrome almost to a brushed or muted finish. Will most likely do the cupholder trim as well.

 

Installed my TRD grill and head lights today.

 

And how's the ride difference? And did you have to relevel with new shocks? Did it raise height?

 

The ride is great. It’s not as dramatic on road as others would suggest on here, but you can tell a clear difference in offroad ride quality.
Yea it raised the front about 2 inches, but the AAL raised the rear about 2 inches as well keeping all of my factory rake.

 

I had a couple minor issues with the head unit at first but Phoenix Automotive had real good customer service and was able to send me updates to load onto the unit. Took a couple program updates but everything works great and love it!

Everyone who sees it in person loves it and asks where to get it and how hard to install.

At half the price of bigger name brands, over twice the screen, and more customizable setups, figured it was worth a try and does not disappoint!

Got them installed, fit like shit! Had to sand them down a little so they’d fit correctly! Also had to add 3M tape to them so they’d stay stuck to doors…all in all my opinion…I guess there worth the money and look nice once they stay put.

 

303’d console in preparation to spray the shifter trim matte clear. Hopefully I don’t screw it up.

Installed Coachbuilder bumper shims without removing the bumper and all good except now I notice my bumper is higher on the right side. No big deal, take fender liner off and adjust it. Putting liner back on, one screw was fighting me, on the 4th attempt I decided to power through and for the first time in my life, snapped a screw. It was a large one that keeps the POS bumper from being flappy. Tried to drill it out but my drill uses the same battery as my light so what happened is I created a new hole..... What to do except make the new hole bigger so I could run a bolt through with a nut on the other end.

Done there so now I'm going to put my Borla Southwest Toyota skid / step on that I was able to get directly from Borla since Toyota discontinued it and used doesn't exist. Notice a dent on the front out of the package, not the end of the world. Get the wife and daughter to hold it up so I can put the tow hooks and bolts back in with the skid/step. Passenger side holes don't line up.... Did I get the wrong one? Not for my year? NO the M'fer is BENT! Put tow hooks back on and send email to Borla then come inside. Daughter: Daddy my ceiling fan chain broke.... Take fan half apart and destroy the switch while trying to open it. New switch ordered from Amazon.....

Now that I am beyond caring. Washing my hands and wife says you have a lot of gray stuff in your hair, a quick mental search says this is lithium grease and I'm not even upset anymore.

Update, went out to touch up a couple areas on the side plastics that the bumper rubbed. Instantly dropped the paint on the driveway after I took the top off. Wife told me to get a beer and stop moving.

 

Waterless washed it today.






Very pleased with the results and the start to finish time of approximately 10 minutes.

 

Oof. Rough days happen, but at least we now know what fuels your vigilante rage on the dark streets of Gotham.

My Xbox took a $h!t on me and the wife gave me a choice. Snorkel or new Xbox. I made the right choice!! Birthday is in December so fingers X’ed on the Xbox.

The flares scratch easy. They rub thru yer paint. I used rhino liner under to protect the metal. The truck is 8yrs old and 200+k miles so I’m more willing to scatch and bruise my truck.

 

Found a Bakflip MX4 on FB Marketplace for $300 today!! Has some minor dents but overall looks good. Hope to get it installed tomorrow or Tuesday.

 

I believe it was bigger than that. I can’t remember. They were using it to back a bolt up so it was wedged against the frame.
