I just installed the factory hitch class 4 . This is sold at the dealership

they did not include bolts or the tow hitch ball receiver :

the dealership said both are discountinued .

there may be old stock out there as I need the 11,000 weight class , if available …

what is the original part number for the trailer hitch receiver ?

The dealership said these are not universal and I need the specific part .

I wonder why the ball mount isn't shown if they are saying it's a specific one that is needed. Try giving Etrailer.com a call?

Hint: If you plan on pulling over 5K you're going to need a weight distribution hitch.

I am not so sure about that. 2" receivers are universal (Reese patent) and you should be able to get the ball mount somewhere else.
I am guessing here, but I am sure the Toyota branded one is not made by Toyota, but a rebranded one from an aftermarket supplier. Toyota is not in the hitch building business. That's a bolt-on part.

    What, are they metric inches?
Lots of guys on this forum have factory hitches and they don't require a special ball mount.
If the hitch has a 2" receiver it will accept a 2" ball mount. Any auto parts store or U-Haul will have what you need. E-trailer.com is a great resource too because they have a huge selection and great customer service.

I won one on Goodwill's online site for $9 a while back and regularly see them, lately showing up in pairs and usually closing out around $12-16 for the pair, complete tong with ball and all hardware. Wasn't specifically listed as being for my '06 with tow pkg, but it fit just fine.

Note: I don't know the difference between 11k and 5k hitch, I didn't think our trucks could pull 11k pounds.

Anyway, the part number of the one I got is PT22889445, but also can be found as Toyota 375N/706N 2.0
