Hi I recently purchased a 2010 Rock Warrior. I noticed a noise which I thought was just the big tires. Upon further investigation I now realize it's the bushing on the drivers side where the axle rides in. I found east coast gear supply thanks to this forum. The warranty company will not cover the cost of fixing the problem so I would like to do it myself. Does anyone want to sell the tools to do the repair? I have had a few things fixed by the repair shop that the warranty company has wormed their way out of paying. The costs are getting stupid so if I can save some money on the tools that would be a great help.
    Thanks,
    Matt

For my Tacoma I built one myself. Easy enough to do as you have the replacement bushing to match the pulling end from. Then you just need a threaded hole, some ready rod, another piece with a hole and a nut.

Just make sure to use some beefy ready rod. I used 1/4" and it snapped once.

thanks for the advice on making your own tool. I thought it looked easy enough to make. I just don't have a welder to attach the nut, but I do have JB Weld :)

FYI I just had my gears swapped at a Toyota Dealer and THEY BROKE the front left aluminum axel shaft removing the bearing.

They must have used a lot of force to crack the case. Something I'll keep in mind if I can ever find a removal tool.

Mechanic said that these bearing are tighter than shit and normally are not removed because they do not wear out with "normal" use. I am very glad that I dint do this myself.

I had planned on using a Custom Shop and over heard them talking about how they had never done a Tundra. Guy said that they had issues on a Tacoma so I went by Toyota. They had done it before and were only a couple of hundred dollars more so I went with them. I figured if they broke something then they could fix it right away which turned out to be the case.

Put me on the list. PM me an address and I'll send out a sipping label or just PP you the cost.

Can it be verified that the bushing tool for the Tacoma is the same tool for the Tundra?

    That would be great.

Are you selling it or paying it forward? I'm good either way.

Can I send you some $ for the cost of shipping/cost of tool?

I'll send you the tool. It's been sitting in a box since the last time someone needed it. Keep it, and if someone else needs it, send it to them. Message me your info and I'll ship it out tomorrow.

Hopefully someone can take pictures of the steps needed and post them. It seams like it's done just often enough so that it would be helpful.
