I have a 2006 Double cab sr5 and there appears to be literally nowhere i could put any subs without sacrificing a seat or the middle console. i’ve seen some people on these forums go for the self powered amp option. there’s not a lot of info online about the 2006 DC specifically and i’m wondering what others have used? Just today i picked up 2 12s and an amp for free that someone was giving away but i highly doubt i’ll even be able to fit 1 12

I have a custom fiberglass box for two 8's that fits in the storage compartment under the rear seat. You want it?

Otherwise put the twelve on the back seat.

Dang, you must not have used the search feature here. I've seen at least half a dozen different setups, both powered and not, using the under-seat cubby, and even the space behind the rear seats. You're lucky in the DC, you've got way more options than the AC in my opinion.

no there aren’t many “great” options. When life gives you lemons, you make lemon drop shots!

the only problem is with the 06 double cab we don’t get any of that space under the rear passenger seats

Might want to show what you mean. There's plenty room in our DC's.

Here's just one of many "subwoofer" threads in this Forum alone by a simple search of this Forum.

This is what i’m working with, i out the bottle to show how barely deep it is, as well as it being sloped. and the single side compartment on the passenger side idk how or if i can get that thing out of there and if that would even be a viable space to do it with. now i may be incorrect on all of this it just seems like there would be be enough space for anything

That's a hell of a lot of airspace when you consider the myriad of shallow-mount sub options that kick just as hard as their counterparts. As someone who worked in the audio/customization industry at a shop that regularly competed in IASCA events in the SE USA, I've heard single 8's kick harder than 2x12s. Don't get stuck on diameters. Enclosure design is far more important

Maybe you need to think more creative if you want to go larger?

Pull the handle to drop the seat back onto the seat bottom. Pull the handle and lift the seat bottom to raise the seat. It's hinged in the front and swings up toward the back of the front seats.

Pull cord on the front flips one way. Lever on the back flips the other way. If I'm not mistaken.
