    Holy shit, I did sumin'

Picked up the $50 AutoWIKI aka AutoFREE aka WinJET yellow fog lights off scAmazon before I headed to the farm for the weekend. I have some commentary on the kit they sent, but maybe for another time. I also have a huge spare foglight harness up for grabs (check next reply coming after this).

The lenses look identical to OEM, but I can't tell how they're glued on, so not sure how easy it would be to retrofit/recap their lenses onto OEM. My OEM were so hazed, I need to take some time to polish them out and re-clear anyway.

Fitment was "OK". Not horrible, not great. The adjuster seems really like the weak point on these. I dunno if they'll last.

Here are three pics, one before, two after (off and on). I measured the adjuster on OEM and aftermarket to pre-dial-in the height. I still need to adjust the fogs and headlights.

Fit the MACs tire strap and decided on a trip location for the jack. Minor rehab on some camp knives.

Looks pretty slick. Might be a huge score if they hold. I would try those.

And to that point, after my install, I have this spare harness for fogs. Pay shipping and it's yours. Please claim dibs here and I'll PM you on it.

Note: The switch is vertical, not slanted. I dunno how that'll work for some people. I took lots of pics of the switch. The relay is 20¢ garbage, I'd replace if I used it.

If I wasn't set for wiring I would jump on that in a second. The baja harnesses I had were good for like 3 projects.

Someone is bound to want it, a little pay-it-forward. I'd prefer it goes to someone who checks this thread, I'm not putting it in the marketplace.

It's all yours, I'll PM to get address and see if you want the whole harness or not.

@alb1k is paying for shipping, whether he realizes it or not

Made some money! The local watering hole is usually good for a side job or two, newer unit that the condenser got clogged with lint, which then raises pressures and temps internally that sooner or later caused the filter drier to become restricted(I believe)
Cut the cap tube back, burned in the new filter and the cap tube end………. They don’t make them like they used to….. I started to burn the 1/4” side and was aiming straight down due to wires and rubber in board, and a rubber mat outboard. I soon found out the base was made of plastic! 37AF8A33-9D1C-47EC-9C55-75AABF0425F0.jpg1A80A14C-03D6-464D-9526-26BD2916A3F4.jpgimage.jpg

This is gonna look great with some bigger tires and different wheels. It definitely skipped leg day this time around. P.S. Be ready to cut and hammer my friend because unless you have the perfect setup, you're gonna rub somewhere.

This is actually more often a problem with DC than it is AC or RC. Plenty of AC and RC drivers have gone with very basic lifts, 2.5" and less, and had zero rubbing with 275/70, and 285/80 with no rubbing, except sometimes a small frame rub in reverse at full lock.

The DC is just a different beast.

We will see. It’s definitely going to be close. I did a lot of research into backspace and offset - hopefully I found a good combo.

    Hoping for an update tomorrow.

Today I will attempt to un-F my headlights. First with an aftermarket switch for low beams. And some work on the ball and socket joint on the passenger side. Which may turn into a take home project.

Tentatively hoping to move it out of state in a week if it’s ready enough to be safe to drive.

What tire size are you trying to fit? Ill be watching vicariously through you as i wanna do something similar on mine in the next year or so. 4:88 gears, 33s, rear locker and probably new suspension by then.

Gas is down to $3.70 ish outside of town and around $4.20 near my house! I don't get the huge swings from place to place. I think gas stations are gouging us.

    Cocktail? wuts innayer?
Any first gen trying to fit 33's or 35's are going to have clearance issues. Spacers will keep you off the frame, but there's no escaping that rub near the body mount at the rear of the tire without some persuasive bodywork by hammer and grinder (says the guy with an AC on 35" tires)
    ^This guy gets it
Also should be mentioned that a slight rub at ride height in a parking lot, can be a rough chomp-chomp when you go 'full stuff' and test out your bumpstops
Shoulda bought mine a couple months ago when i offered:notsure: Motive 4.88's..
