Asking for a friend who just bought a tundra. The truck got aftermarket wheels on it and the pressure sensors are not installed nor do he have the original. I see some post on here regarding the wiring and if you cut this or splice that it will work, then some people saying it won't. Without him spending the money to get sensors and tires broken down, is there any other solution that works.

    Thanks.

Tell your friend to totally ignore the stupid light like I do. I don't even notice it any more. And buy a decent ARB air pressure gauge from ToyTec. . IMHO

I also do the same thing and don't notice it anymore.

I've seen folks to try to do the wire bypass not only for TPMS, but also for annoying seat belt chime with decent mod instructions and still find a way to f¥¥k it up causing a worse "real" problem.

Throw the tpms's into the spare tire and set it and forget it

Great idea if you still have any. If you don't have any I'd check with Discount Tires and get 4 and free programming which they will do. Or ignore the stupid light and use your money to buy flowers and dinner for the kids/wifey.

The TPMS system is wireless and there are several components to it. Likely the easiest way to fix this would be to grab 4 and sync them to the system then just reset the pressure using the reset switch (See image and steps below) and in theory it should stop complaining (I've never done this so its just a theory). You shouldn't even have to do anything with the existing tires. Here is a breakdown of the system and a few highlights regarding when it works or not. Not sure what year your friends is but this is for the 3rd Gen. Hope it helps!
