Weird question. I have a 2017 Tundra crew max. I have a shell and a DIY drawer system. Just wondering if anyone has hauled a full size mattress (not a twin, not a queen...).

Need it to lay flat with box spring on my drawer. Has a shell with slight angle inward. With insane gas prices, I don't want to waste the gas driving to where it is, just to see that it does not fit. Hoping someone here has tried....

    Thanks

A full size mattress is 54x75. I have a 2016 and did some quick measurements. The width would work as long as it sits over top the wheel well protrusions. But you are short on the length with a 2017 Crewmax, too long to close the tailgate. Would fit with tailgate down however.

Thanks, yeah with my drawer system, the box spring/mattress will be above the wheel wells, adn I planned to have the tail gate down, with ratchet straps holding the mattress. Door to the shell will be tied down, but obviously won't be closed all the way. I had done some measuring also, but hoping someone has actually tried this. Fingers crossed it works.

I don't know, but he didn't mention anything about sleeping on the mattress in the truck. With both a box spring and a mattress, there'd be a severe lack of room to so much as roll onto your side.

Aren't box springs just a box nowadays? If you already have a firm base, nix the box springs.

There is currently a full size mattress in the back of my 2017 Crewmax. No box spring or shell, but the Bakflip is closed with no problem.

Just do a quick google search on Full size mattresses and then do a measurement on the inside of your bed/cap and you'll have your own answer. Push comes to shove, ratchet straps usually work pretty well.

Try looking at RV mattresses. They are sized differently than for home use.

That they are. Not widely noted by the RV manufacturer but you figure it our real quick when you're 6'+ and you lay on one.

Think OP is merely hauling the mattress from point A to point B. Not trying to build a broverlander in the back of his truck.

We use a 4 inch thick queen size memory foam mattress in our crew max. We fold about a foot or so over for a pillow and to fit length.

    don't know
Anyone out there happen to know the difference in bed size between Gen 2 and 3 CM? I am asking because I want to know if a bed cap( sleeper, camper shell) from a 14 will fit on my 10. Not to concerned if it is not centered on the rail caps just concerned it will fit.
