I feel ya. I dont really like the look or the extra wind noise....but I have a black truck, so they are a must and really do help a ton.

Ok here's the link. Totally not Amazon lol This did take awhile to show up as it came from oversees. Took probably 3-4 weeks I think (long enough for me to forget I ordered it and remember where I ordered from). The install was straight forward.

I removed the trim piece then placed the boot over the shift gate and installed the trim piece over. The tension is what keeps it in place. I did pull a little more material through so it wouldn't keep the shifter from its range of motion. Any black leather boot with a wide base would work just fine but this does match the grain on the TRD knob and the leather does seem very good quality.

    https://www.redlinegoods.com/Tundra07shiftboot.php

I can send more pics of how it looks to do it if needed.

Wow! I've never seen this before. Apparently I ran something significant over. Through the tire and wheel!

If it were me, I'd first check ebay and craigslist for a rim.

Spark plugs changed! Procrastinated somewhat as bought them last August but redeemed myself a bit by worshing out the throttle body and MAF sensor while I was at it;) At a touch over 198k (km) they came out fine, definitely due but not completely thrashed yet.

Yea, it's too damn hot to be changing tires. Thank goodness for roadside assistance that came with the truck.

You got me thinking... I went on Craigslist and found a tire and rim in like new condition near my house for $300. Bingo! Thanks!!

I think I will wear the treads on these tires before I spend the cash on the other stuff.

Right after I posted that I had thought that you might even find one with a decent tire. I’d run a a mismatched brand tire if I were in a situation like you are with a busted tire and rim. I wouldn’t really like it, but eventually you’ll get all matched up again.

Glad you found a good deal!

Barely. I heard the very loud pop and thought that what I felt was the pop. It was during a lane change in traffic so I never saw what it was. I thought it was just a tire blowout until I saw the inside of the rim. Scared me pretty good...

Found a cheap fix for now. I'm about to drop $4k into my house to battle the heat so I'm going to wear out the tread on the existing tires then I will start with the mods
