Do you haul anything real heavy or go off road?

Have you considered the Maverick? If you don't need ground clearance or off road, it's got as much payload as a Tundra, and it's least efficient set up is better than the new hybrid Tundra on gas.

They are in pretty high demand and back ordered, but if you don't need the full truck, it's a great commuter with a capable bed. I'd run one.

If the charging stations could accommodate trailers, the range comparison wouldn’t be an issue with some vehicles…if charging only took 20-25 min.

Sure. Not saying it’s apples to apples.

This is where I think plug in hybrids for trucks and SUVs would be a better option. You get to drive around town on electric and save gas/diesel for towing or off-roading. If they could figure out how to integrate the battery to generate instant torque when towing, even better.

I do love the Rivian R1S. I am slowly trying to convince the wife that a $90K SUV is worth it

That begs the question in the grand scheme of things. How much more environmentally friendly is this whole EV ordeal..

Harvesting lithium is some nasty business. Also, electricity still has to come from somewhere. Then you have to deal with recycling of used up battery.:monocle:the future is deeply concerning either way you look at it, gasoline or EV...:pout:

If you have a buddy you could always do what Mercedes are doing when they deliver their new EV's in the UK. Get ready to piss yourselves laughing... Because charging stations can be hit and miss in some places in the UK and part of the delivery terms are that an EV will be delivered with a minimum 80% charge, Mercedes were having troubles early on, so they bought a small diesel van and tow a diesel generator to accompany their deliveries...
