I worked a Union assembly job for about 6 months I’d say at least half the workers were lazy, entitled, always complaining, the pay was pretty good for the job but they moved really fast when free doughnuts were in the break room. Lol.

    Sounds like my job haha
People complain about having to do the simplest of tasks. Like bro..your getting paid to be here.
Normal 8 hour day consists of 3-4 hours of work the rest is hanging in the break room looking at our phones or playing Nintendo switch. And people still bitch and moan.

Wife and I worked for over 30 years in a UAW (United Aerospace Workers) shop. In that time,I got ONE comment about my 88% American made Tundra. After realizing my reaction couldn't be trusted, they quieted down. These are mostly ignorant dweebs, who never research anything for themselves. "My daddy drove a Ford ,so I'm driving a Ford!" If it has a American nameplate, it was built in Detroit. A foreign nameplate, it came over on the same ships that launched the planes that bombed Pearl Harbor!:oldglory:

Only trucks I saw SF guys using to go to war in were Toyotas… reliable enough for them, I guess haha.

The GM CAMI plant in Woodstock is going & Oshawa is starting up again too. I’m just not sure what they are making or how many. I think Ford in Oakville is still building something too but not sure.
Toyota builds in Woodstock & Honda builds in Alliston.
Ontario is apparently investing / supporting electric veh production & batteries too.

this is the real answer. Why we care what other people think so much is beyond me. I’m like, cool, you do you.

I sell marina forklifts and one of the leaders in the market is Hoist (Toyota). They are our biggest competitor. I drive a Toyota and my boss hates it, don’t really give a shit either.

I work for a very big railroad. We handle a whole bunch of those "American made" vehicles coming from Mexico daily. Hundreds and hundreds every day. I see mostly Ford Bronco Sports, Mavericks, and bunches of other miscellaneous models and brands.

I’m pretty sure the decision to build the Tundra in the US was mostly tariff and logistical based on the size, but it’s probably helped a lot of people reconcile their decision to leave the big 3. I actually prefer the made in Japan Toyotas for their higher build quality. The Camry was never the same after they started building it in the US.

To my knowledge, the engine was designed in California, cast in Alabama, and the overall tuck is assembled in Texas.

I got the same response from the old timers when I bought my Traeger.

Yeah it’s made over seas, but still employs over 400 Americans, not to mention all the small town Ace Hardwares that sell them.

I have Yeti coolers also, but you can request American made ones at time of order.

Were they around in 2015 when I bought my coolers o_O

Edit: Just looked them up, says they have been around since 2010. I’ve never heard of them, but looks like good shit.

I just watched a Scotty Kilmer video and it said that the employees that make the new Toyota’s at their Baja California Plant make a little over $6 a day :eek2:

I drove GM vehicles up till 2014. Damaged front end on a Colorada truck. Went to GM place to get parts because knew someone that worked there. All parts had stickers on them, made in Mexico. Go figure. Drove that truck till 102000 miles never had any trouble out of it. But, drove with my fingers crossed whole time. Because got a warranty letter in mail saying some of vehicles had head problems. Said after got rid of that truck never would on GM again.

Tundra I got now was made 3 weeks ago in Texas.

I like Scotty but I'm curious how he would know that. I don't even know that the operators at the plant I work at make, let alone any others.

I just recently left my Union after 34 years and drove three Toyota trucks in that time period. Most Ford and Dodge guys I worked with had at least six vehicles in the same period some had more.

Not my issue if they are not as smart with their money.

We had executives driving Mercedes Benz's didn't bother me but it did others since we were a US company. Your dough spend it how you want.
