What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Just installed three more simple, unnecessary mods that I just had to have…

1. CarTrimHome blue backlit window switch panel. I didn’t like the red light for the lock button, so I requested all blue. I had to wait a bit, but CTH came through for me. The shade of blue is a bit bluer than other (Toyota) blue switches on the dash, but it fits my theme and matches the footwell lights.


2. AJT matte black interior door handle covers. I prefer the (smoother) MESO covers I have on my 4Runner, but they were out of stock when I was looking for them for the Tundra.


3. High Flying matte black radio surround. Before installing, I added some matte black vinyl in the corner areas where a bit of the silver would have shown through. My old TufSkinz vent rings match pretty well, and I managed to pull them off and reinstall without damaging them.

Had some "help" unpacking camping stuff from the bed

 

Installed a swing away storage box. I didn’t think I’d like it at first because it’s somewhat small and you lose a tie down. But once installed, I really do like it! Got rid of my tote box I was using for storage.

Impressive!! Gotta love a girl who is a truck nut and likes to mod. Your truck is nicer than some of the guys trucks in the forum.

Got the Dirty Deeds exhaust installed yesterday.... the old exhaust fought me the whole way! There are only 5 bolts that hold it on and every one of them was frozen solid. I had been spraying them with PB Blaster a couple of times a week since I placed the order. It didn't help one bit! I tried the 600 lbs of tq Milwaukee 3/8 impact gun at first with no luck. Then stepped up the 1/2 impact and that just spun the socket on the rust nut rounding it off. Broke out the grinder with a cut of wheel and cut them all off and replaced them with grade 8 hardware.

I can definitely hear a it in the cab when I take off but once I hit cruising speed, pretty much nothing. So far no drone but I did install the resonator. I haven't had a chance to romp on it much. Yesterday I had the wife and dog with me and the wife was giving me the look every time I'd goose it a little. So far, I'm pretty happy. I also installed the S&B intake the night before along with a oil catch can. I'm looking forward to seeing what if any effect it has on the gas mileage.

What extended bump stops did you go with?

 

The intake is just a cosmetic upgrade since the stock intake is cold air. I have the 8" without resonator on mine. I love the drone lol.

 

I ended up getting the 10” installed and the wife feels it’s not loud enough….I love my wife. Going to stay with the 10” though, it barks a little when pulling a 30’ camper. Enjoy!

 

I had a blast pulling my camper with my 8". Noise = business lol.

I think it's a hitch mounted bike rack.

 

Dirtking parts arrived. I can tell you these mounts are ridiculously beefy. Awesome packaging and shipping time also.

 

Yep! its a 1up bike rack tilted down so the tailgate doesnt hit it. I'd be lying if I said I don't use it as steps to get into the bed sometimes though

I used a little black heat shrink on the exposed part of the chrome shaft. The boot isn’t specifically for the Tundra, but I made it work with the help of wire ties and gorilla tape (hidden underneath).

Finally got my truck back after a week + at the shop (was told I'd have it 7/1 guaranteed for the holiday weekend lol was pretty bummed when they said 7/6 when I called to confirm Friday pickup on Thursday 6/30).
Re-gear to 5.29's (currently 250 miles into break in) - loving it so far very minimum whine/whistle - Nitro gears, no rem polish and no cyro treatment
Dirty Deeds trd replacement 12x5 loudest and I love it - resonators not installed and no drone
Fox 2.5 dsc on all 4 corners replacing my Bilsteins which had 73k on them -- still messing with the dials to see what feels the best
RAS HD system added as well.

Once I got it back I added the alpharex luxx series in red. the alpha black ones were on backorder until end of July but really like the red once I saw it on the truck. Pictures below because I couldn't find any online on a tundra when I was debating which to choose.

Basically done for a looong time lol just going to start enjoying more. Such a pleasure to drive; taking it up to Lake George/Saratoga next weekend.
