Hey guys I bought a project car and I’m in the process of rebuilding the heads. It’s a 06 5.7 charger. I noticed when I removed the heads it looks like the rear water jacket one both sides have dirt in them. Have you guys ever seen this before?

Any issues with it running hot when it did run?
Could be old radiator stopleak that’s dried out and nasty and made it’s way all through the cooling system. Might explain why you had to redo the heads :anonymous:

It was running fine but these cars are commonly dropping the valve seats. So in the process of doing that I noticed this. Would you recommend cleaning that out? It’s on both sides passenger and driver.

I was going to say bars leaks or some other cooling system stop leak. I would clean all that you can see.
