My front end had been clunking on the driver's side front since I had my truck lifted. Bilstein 6112 on the top notch with two Coachbuilder shims on it. Also Bilstein B8 UCA's. It had been driving me crazy and I checked everything, short of taking the 6112's back off. Turns out it was tab holding the wires( thinking ABS or something) that bolt onto the UCA. In the photo you can see the paint rubbing of the sheet metal there. I just today happened to notice the paint missing. I looked at the passenger side, the bracket was towards the outside a bit. I did that to the driver's side, and the clunk is gone. A very minor thing that made A LOT of noise hitting speed bumps and any other objects at about 12mph and above. I kept thinking the spring wasn't seated correctly. Anyway, I hope this might help someone else who has been looking at causes and can't figure anything out. I've read lots of posts with clunking issues on these trucks. And this turned out to be something very simple.
