Installed a "free" hot tub in the yard. Dry weight is 900lbs moved it with ropes, pulleys and pvc pipes alone. It was a 12 pack kinda job.

I swear I thought it was a lunch box lol. I scrolled on the phone all the way down before page all loaded and those last 2 pix is what I saw.

Anyways, buying and assembling a grill, does that count as home improvement?

    Looks good
My only suggestion - check your screw spacing. Should be maximum of 16” the “field” on the walls and 12” on the ceiling. Edges should be 8” on both. That’s to ensure proper support of the panels over time.

And before you button everything up, think about putting wood blocking anywhere you might want a towel holder or toilet paper holder. Way better than crappy drywall anchors later. I also put blocking behind where the door knob would hit the wall - even with door stops, it’s sometimes possible for a door to flex enough to bump the knob. Solid blocking makes that knob just slightly dent the texture instead of punching a hole in the wall.

good to know. Thanks. Thought the screws were close enough but I’ll double check my measurements. I did have the forethought and put blocking for the TP holder and towel hooks though.

Did a little backsplash tile work today. I really hate getting different lot number tile packs but sometimes you have to do it. Between three Home Depot’s I was able to get 17. Wife found 6 more at a different location.

Put up some felt paper and hardy board. Set tile out and cut the outlets.

Ran out of tile for the morning.

    Just looks sloppy I guess.
The main rock base has to stay as it matches the neighbors rocks.
Grey house, large brown rocks. Thinking of somehow removing and adding in large dark grey granite rocks.
Thinking an evergreen tree would be good.
Don't like the black mulch, only black mulch in the neighborhood.

Those are some great ideas. I’m not a mulch person since we get some pretty high winds and it just ends up everywhere but where it’s supposed to be (heard the cut up rubber mulch is better).

I hate mulch. We only have a very very small amount our front around the tree. You’ll need to replace it annually unless U go rubber, which is heavier

not worth a shit. it does somewhat block evaporation, but doesn't work the same way traditional mulch does - it's more for the visual and coverage of bare dirt. And it'll never break down or turn into anything organic or useful.

My wife loves cedar mulch to a fault. If our chickens get out, they raise holy hell on our rock gardens. I just hand her a broom…:D

For mulch, western hemlock is my favorite. It's soft and doesn't have splinters. For wood CHIPS, we use cedar. It lasts forever out here.
