New set of shoes! Nokian Outposts were to be available to order today, tire place said they were on backorder from Nokian, so they PXL_20220701_225329162.jpg hunted me down a set...Nokian Outpost 275/70 R18s. I'll take better pictures tomorrow. First impressions...just a little louder than OE Michelins, ride smoother, look MUCH better, and definitely fill the wheel wells better (OE were 275/60). No rubbing.

Feeling better about my cats. Got the Cat Security shield with the extensions put on this week. Ordered the heavier one. Figment was really good.

Finally installed my under seat storage. Got a deal from someone local and picked the ESP Up pretty cheap.

(Hopefully,) better pictures of the Nokians. Completely inside the wheel wells, my preference. Filling up front wheelwell and close up...PXL_20220702_103358902.jpg PXL_20220702_103334957.jpg PXL_20220702_103351949.jpg

The same wheel I used on the emblem glue?

I was thinking I need to heat and peel.

I used the same for both, although in reverse order. I used a heat gun (hair dryer would work) to heat the vinyl up and most of it peeled off with my fingers. The left over junk including adhesive I used the wheel.

Edit: when I peeled my black door pillar vinyl I did discover there is this magic spot with heat where the adhesive comes up with the vinyl. Most of the time there is some adhesive left behind.

I cumfilmed the entire truck. Went through a whole pack of cans. Its definitely better to buy buckets and either spread it on with sponges or get the air spray adapter funning from the bucket. The spray can leak and waste aboug 10%.

Heated a corner so I could lift it easy, then did the rest without heat. Came off beautifully with almost zero residue.

Installed some Trail Ridge tow mirrors from @sportbikenut this afternoon. They fit great and are electric, heated, and have the blind spot indicators. Side smoked lenses with turn signals which was an upgrade to the stock mirrors.

Damn man; had a 6mm x 9mm kidney stone in 2020, and had it blown up - not by sharks with frickin' laser beams, but by doctors with frickin' laser beams. The recovery was almost worse than the kidney stone was. :eek2: Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

If they haven't already done this (and I'm sure they have, but still), make sure they analyze your urine in a 24 hour test to see what's causing them. In my case, thankfully, it was down to not drinking enough water. That's easily rectifiable...but I'm not kidding even a little bit when I say I'd go 100% vegetarian to avoid them suckers.

Bare is beautiful, but the B-pillars are staying. The only red Tundras I've seen B-pillared were DCs, and I'm not a fan. Besides, when she gets tints, it will all tie together better if they are black.

I know that feeling! Got mine put on in March, I think. Wife all along has said "...do you SERIOUSLY think this is necessary?"

Just yesterday she saw a post on FB about an attempted cat theft @ the movie theater we went to at the end of May (to see Top Gun: Maverick). She sent me a message saying "You were right."

    I cherish that message. :D

Any issues since installation? I bought one and it contacts the sway bar, oil everywhere, luckily I didn't ruin the engine...and before anyone asks, all paved roads, some potholes...I drove from Cypress to Surfside after installation/oil change on Monday morning, and no issues all week, noticed the puddle under the truck when I got back to Cypress on Friday.

    upload_2022-7-2_19-25-20.jpg

Dent from sway bar (hard to see, but it made contact enough to lose seal around the filter)

    upload_2022-7-2_19-25-48.jpg

Better view of damage to filter, sway bar rubbed paint off

Last winter I started to do the handle replacement - swap out the chrome with MGM exterior and black interior. It was cold; I was in a hurry; and mistakes happen. The keeper screw ("that can't fall out") fell out into the bottom of the rear door. One of the keepers broke off (or came that way from the factory). As they say haste makes waste and all of you guys say it only takes 15 minutes. In January/February I went to Africa (photography trip) and then work got in the way.
After a six month hiatus I have returned. I must learn not to rush and know that it takes me twenty times longer than everyone else. Today I finally finished the project. I had to replace the interior door portion on that door that connects to the handle ($60). Thanks Colton @memario1214 for the video showing how to do the wired handles.
I will now have lots of chrome for sale!

Edit - I also wrapped the tails but it was very difficult and I did a poor job. Too much material with the double curves. Looking for a pro who will redo them for me.

    Ouch.
I honestly prefer the canister filter housing. Using the Motix drain tool and wrench set, I make way less mess dropping the Tundra filter housing than I ever have dropping a damn one-piece filter. I did switch to the aluminum housing, but that’s just preference more than anything - functionally it’s the same as long as it isn’t over-torqued.

Is switching to a spin on filter really worth risking your engine over the cartridge? Seems awfully risky for little gain. Understand the filter change is a tad annoying, but there are many ways to make it much easier/cleaner and the better route to go.
