So I didn't do my Tundra yet because I need to strip wax and clay bar first. The missus' 4runner is new and is yet to have been waxed so I thought I'd guinea pig it with this TopCoat F11 I picked up.

I don't remember where I heard about this stuff. I thought it was here but a forums search yields no results.

Anyway, it goes on ultra easy compared to wax or sealant and the final results are pretty amazing. If it holds up for 3-4 months like they claim (during which time water and dust will just run off easily) I'm sold for life. I think it was around $65 for 20oz or something like that, so not cheap. Fortunately it seems there is enough to do this 4r 10+ times.

It's a spray on, buff and wipe off - like a quick detailer only it's all space-agey and stuff.

Check this site out. I truly am amazed so far with this stuff.

I bought directly from the manufacturer - couldn't find another source.

It's not an "all in one."

The instructions are clear, strip wax, clean and dry, clay bar, then apply top coat. It's a paint sealer, it just applies easier than most others I'm aware of.

There are a ton of videos and instructions and a good FAQ on the website. Lots of independent stuff on YouTube too. I did a ton of research before spending $60 on 16oz of it.

This is how I prepped her car to apply yesterday:

1: presoak with a normal car soap. Applied generously and sprayed off.

2: more soap and a mitt, sprayed off.

3: hand dry with micro fiber towels.

4: wipe down with clean micro fiber towels and reverse osmosis water.

5: air dry and cool down in garage.

6: spray on, buff and dry TopCoat panel by panel.

7: once over again with a fresh, dry micro fiber towels.

It's certainly not an "all in one" product and just like any time you detail a car you take special steps to ensure there is no debris on the surface of the vehicle before using a towel or cloth to avoid blurring and scratches.

When I said it went on easy, I was referring to the actual application of the TopCoat F11 product versus wax or other sealants ivd worked with - I wasn't trying to imply that it did everything. Sorry if I was unclear.

I don't want to berate or slam you, but clearly yoiur opinion is respected. I want to clarify how the product works so that people judge it based on its merit and not someone else's misconceptions.

No disrespect intended, hope it didn't seem that I was trying to "slam" you.

I've done a ton of car detailing over the years. I don't do it professionally or anything but am certainly not new to these concepts.

Anyone who uses a quick detailer and a towel to remove debris doesn't love their car.

I'm just waking up and responding from my phone on bed, when I'm typing on my phone I find im really to the point and sometimes seem rude...even if I don't intend to come across that way. I think it's because I have fat fingers and a tiny phone so I just get my point across asap before frustration kicks in.

I agree that not being face to face causes misunderstandings online.. in any case I seriously hope I wasn't offensive and I can completely see how unclear I was in describing how this works earlier. Absolutely my fault for skipping through the process and just leaving links to the website.

They say you can clean witboiut water after multiple coatings, because it is supposed to create a barrier like ceramic over time. I'm not quite there yet so I cannot speak to that.

If you read the website and instructions you'll see that this only applies after you've applied multiple coats using the process I described above - after the material has bonded to your paint.

It's like ceramic coating but not as big of a pain in the ass to apply.

My wife's 4runner still looks like it was freshly waxed and it's been 5-6 days. It even rained one of those days. I'd take a pic but she's out right now.

So really, you don't have to take my word for it. I would definitely read up about it though before forming an opinion based on partial accounts.

Got the Tundra with F11 TopCoat today.

Hand washed with Chemical Guys "Clean Slate"

Clay barred with Mother's clay bar kit.

Rinsed and dried with new microfiber towels, let it air dry and then another once over with a new towel and RO water (this makes any spots go buhbye)

Went over with F11 and buffed in, went through 3 new towels in the process. I worked panel to panel and buffed excess off with a dry towel.

I love this F11. You can use it on plastic and everything. Makes plastic trim look brand new. You can even use it on your headlights.. I finally cleaned my wife's car (water only, no soap!) and bugs slid right off and there was zero discoloration or residue from their guts!

I think this is better than any wax I've ever used, and probably bested only by ceramic coatings. This is of course just my own personal opinion.

One of the best parts is the ultra smooth feel of the paint when you're done. It's like the feel after a caranauba wax only it takes 1/4 the time to apply. =D

    20170714_163321.jpg 20170714_163338.jpg 20170714_163345.jpg 20170714_163405.jpg 20170714_163413.jpg 20170714_163420.jpg 20170714_163443.jpg

Oh yeah and now it's cloudy and drizzling.

And yes, my tires look like shit because my Meguiar's Tire Gel is MIA. I used some spray foam crap that they say you don't have to wipe off but looks terrible if you don't.

My question stands! I wish they sold this in smaller bottles so some people would try it out. I don't normally vehemently promote stuff..
