Picked up a cheap $1200 Trustmade. Not bad when compared to some of the $3k ones but still cheap.
The idea was to put it on and take it off as needed but it’s a real bitch getting up under there to clamp it on.

Kinda depends on what you mean. The SSOR roof rack is rated 700 static, 350 off-road. Tent is close to 200. Shipping weight with pallet and packaging was showing 207.
Tent says it’s rated for 700. Mounting anything on the roof is not advised.

Where'd you get it for that price? Looks good. I like the space of my Smittybilt XL gen 2 but setup can get annoying since I move spots a lot. I've considered going hardshell but most are way too expensive, approaching older used slide in camper money.

I ordered it from a local Camping World about 6 months ago when they had a sale and got free delivery to the store. Normal price was $1499. Beginning of 2020 they were $999 - $1100. Looks like $1600-$2099 right now.

If I like it and use it enough to justify a more expensive one, then I may drop $3500.
I like the idea of having an annex with the fold out tents. Would need a awning with walls for this setup.
