Has anyone done upgrades to the fronts using 6x9 components ? I have seen good reviews on some kickers online but seeing if anyone has done them.

I did on one of mine, recommend. Kept factory head unit, added the following.

I bought all the wiring adapters(no cutting anything factory), the adapters for the front and rear door speakers, and sound deadener for behind the speakers. I could not use the front 6x9 adapter due to the speakers I bought, but I'm pretty sure I just cut the mount off the factory speaker and used it.

Upgraded yes. 6x9 no. Any reason you don't want to go 6.5"?

Thanks man... yea looking at different options as yea lets say the paper speakers are already popped in three weeks. Without any changes on the amp does it sound real good compared?

Only reason is the existing speaker is 6x9. Been a while since I have done speakers but saw 6x9 component sets and was curious. In the past components would only be 6.5... so yea why I'm asking. I'm open but just want the cleanest sound.

I went a bit off the deep end when i did mine. Here is a thread i posted some pics of mine in. #36 is what all of my door panels look like. I don't know if you want to go that far but in my experience the 6.5"s sound a lot better and i believe there are more options. I don't pretend to be the know all on stereo. But this is my second Toyota and both of them i used 6.5" components. My 4 Runner i used the model above the ones I have now. A bunch of people of course use Taco Tunes also for speakers and brackets.
