    Never AGAIN

Will I attempt diy audio upgrade, let’s get that out of the way. One, I’m color blind. Tf was I thinking. 2, pretty sure all wires coming from the dash are a shade of brown. Thanks T! So I bought my 2016 tundra “previously enjoyed.” I guess the original owner started an upgrade, it went tits up, and he cut some harness connectors off and just shoved everything back in there. So I go to install an AMHU, and the particular connectors he cut were the speaker wires, along with whatever else goes there. I have the unit, interface, and no clue what wires from that spaghetti factory go to which of the two connectors. Google hates me, so finding wiring diagrams goes as far as the connectors, but not further into the dash.

anyone willing to share any knowledge, preferably a diagram explaining this sadistic color coding, so I can just get this stupid thing going?

i plan on putting the big Tesla style touch screen in, but for now, where can I get replacement connectors and/or the color coding with detailed info to hardwire? TIA

Can you post some pictures of the damaged connectors? There are a lot of them going into the radio would help to narrow it down.

Also verify it’s a 2016 JBL or Non JBL

Give me a couple minutes and I will post pics of the damaged connector, it is non jbl as far as I know, and I will post a pic of the truck as well. Just wanted to express the appreciation before takinmore of your collective time and knowledge. 2 minutes.

So the only connectors removed seem to be the 10 pin and 24 pin connectors side by side on the back of the factory unit, that include the speaker wires, power, acc, remote, all the actual audio part. I’ve included the two saddles on the back of the factory unit that they would plug into. If I am missing anything let me know, my knowledge of all this is limited and I appreciate your patience. 8C9E3D88-E10D-44DC-A73E-11E3B9CEA203.jpg88F32C46-6FBC-4B9F-BD66-AB7317E44C84.jpg8C9E3D88-E10D-44DC-A73E-11E3B9CEA203.jpg88F32C46-6FBC-4B9F-BD66-AB7317E44C84.jpg8C9E3D88-E10D-44DC-A73E-11E3B9CEA203.jpg

    I'm sorry that happened.

If your system is JBL, you will have a sub behind the rear seat.
I also think the speaker grilles might have JBL on them.

As well JBL with have tweeter door sails in the front doors, non-JBL will not.
Without the Focal emblem of course.

Some Limiteds have JBL, some don't.

What a total a$$hole that wouldn't spend $10 for an aftermarket radio harness.
It even makes the install easier.

Hopefully, someone with more knowledge than I, wouldn't take much, will advise.

in that case it is non jbl and its not amplified either. So I could pin out a harness, but I still need to know what color wires go to which adapter - matter of fact I bought universal adapters with no pins, just empty shells, I just figure at this point, I can solder and make solid connections without the extra step. I have a whole toolbox with heat shrink connectors, solder, butt connectors, all that. and the wiring schematics posted, I just can't read them.... I can see them, but I am just not educated enough in this field to know what I'm looking at and what abbreviations mean here. I have a good interface ready to install that will retain all factory functions, but without knowing what exact wire from that one harness goes to exactly what wire coming out of the interface, or rather I should say, I guess I need a table that has each wire from the dash needed for those two adapters by color, and what its function is. then I could match wires by function and be done with this. id just take it to a place and bend over and take whatever price gouge they shove up there, but one, I probably can't afford it, and two, my wife is taking it to Dallas tomorrow, and I know they wouldn't be done in time, and I don't want her driving in Dallas with no backup camera, no gps, and being thematic lover I am, I wouldn't wish a two hours trip of silence on anyone. might as well be waterboarding. if I knew where to start, I'm usually pretty quick at picking things up. just need a base to start and I'm admittedly (first and only time you'll ever see or hear me say this) completely lost and so frustrated that Toyota couldn't just use the same color scheme that the rest of the world uses... and probably just so one would be forced to pay the dealership, So out of pure spite, if I had to label it, I refuse to be forced to do ANYTHING, especially by a car manufacturer.

looks like they aren't all brown after all. I'm going to try to match these to the database posted and see if I can eke this out. standby

Ok. After breathing, and actually having a chance to get eyes on this in sufficient light, I have separated and narrowed it down to the 4 pairs of speaker wires, and what I’m assuming will be the constant, acc, ground, illumination, reverse, basically I am left with 3 very small gauge wires, a big green one, a striped one and one other. Just don’t know what they are

Turns out there is in fact an amp under the seat even for non jbl. Two harnesses plugged into it, so now I will take the information given to me and match these wires to the ones in the dash, wrap this up, drink a beer, fart, and try like hell to forget this whole thing. After reposting for the next poor misguided colorblind fool who thinks ‘meh, I can probably wing it.’ Thanks all. I will post results later

We already knew you had an under seat amp in a 2016, JBL or not.:p

    Although they are different.
Non-JBL, the dash speakers run off the HU, same lead from the HU to the amp.
Door speakers run off the amp.
With that given, the front doors only have mids and lows (from the amp) with the dash speakers running as tweeters.
As well, the side dash are Left/right, the center is a dual coil speaker, fed from the left and right speaker.
You'll see it in the schematic on pages 7 and 8.
Page 9 #2 rear speakers are for crewmax tweeters (*3 9 speaker systems), double cabs don't have tweeters in the back doors.

JBL has ALL speakers running off the amp.
But that doesn't apply to you..

Let me see what I can do for you.
Knowing you are non-JBL actually makes it easier for all involved..

You said you had schematics, but I'll post them anyway.
Schematics for your non-JBL Entune HU and amp.

    Glad to help.
It really pisses me off that someone cut his OEM harness.
A $10 aftermarket wiring harness makes installing the AF HU even easier.

    Just laziness I guess..

Haha “WE” didn’t know jack Schmidt! But, I’m 200% to blame for that late arrival - I was reading my interface manual and it kept showing options for “amped jbl” and “non-amped”, and “amped and non-amped” and I was just too damn lazy to go look under because my thoughts were, this factory sound system is so smitty, there’s no way this is amped. I didn’t wanna believe I’d been looking at the correct color schemes for 2 days and deputy dipshit before me had cut the wrong harness anyway. Guess what happened EXACTLY as I just described….. my night. Then, oh it gets better. Once I got all the wires id’d and marked, I hook the interface connector to the dash harnesses that were cut instead of the after market hu harness. And we are talking 2 hours of trimming, twisting, tinning, BEAUTIFUL soldering and masterly performed heat shrink tubing. I leaned back to look at my opus, stared in self satisfaction, even thought about treating myself to a “stranger” cause hell, I earned it. Just as my left hand was going numb, I looked slightly to the right and what was plugged into the back of the hu with visible ends glaring like the snakes on medusas head? That (15 minute expletive deleted) harness. I damn near turned that truck over bare handed I was so mad. After not one but 3 sessions with a stranger and some simultaneous crying, (I’m not proud of it, but it happened in the story) and 4 bud lights downed in galactic record time, i put my big boy thong back on, pulled myself out of depression and the bathtub, hooked every wire up just as pretty and straight and each to its correct counterpart, nicely taped, looking like a million bucks, I was feeling like a GOOD 9.99 myself, went one more round with the stranger and turned on the truck and…… f****n nothin. That was 8 minutes ago. I give up, I’m going to bed, idk if it was fuses, a bad unit, too much stranger spray or a missed connection but the devil won tonight y’all. The devil won, and I lost. One more stranger then I’m outta here…. ‍♂️

Geeze, the first words that came to mind as I looked at the pic were f'cking butchered!
You are right, what kind of lazy sot does this...
Anyway, the harness adapters are the Female version of the connector needed. What OP needs is the MALE version.
You might be able to buy new bodies & pins from Toyota Parts, a question to @Roman https://www.tundras.com/members/roman.876/ might be fruitful.
I would also really consider going to a salvage yard, find the right wreck, dig out of the dash those connectors used for the factory stereo.
They will already have the proper colored wires and clip them out, leaving as much wire as you can.
At that point just carefully use some Heat Shrink, strip back the wire ends, and solder those wires back together.
That would repair the damage and allow the Tesla Type Screen HU to be installed rather easily!

    Good Luck!

I would take a look at the fuses first. Some of those wires have power all the time.
