So I'm currently tundraless, which kinda sucks mostly because I have to share the Kia soul with the wife !

When I was selling my 2010 RCSB I was hoping to be able to replace it with a supercharger crewmax. Well I finally found one and it's only a few hours drive.

I need some I sight though. It's a 2008 crewmax with 235k km ( 146k miles) the seller is the 3rd owner. It's got an intercooler. I'm waiting on more pictures and a carproof report.

I'm aware of the common tundra issues and problems to watch out for. But I really don't know much about the Superchagers.

Anyone got any tips or opinions.

Also take note that this a Canadian truck listed in Canadian dollars

When was the SC installed? TRD or Magunson? Who installed it? Have you driven it?

Because so few SC'd Tundras make it close to the 200k mile mark, I'd be extremely leery. A lot of people will run em conservatively mainly for towing but most are "driving em like they stole em", either way you are probably looking at a truck with lots of wear and potential abuse. Proceed with caution.

I have not drive it yet. Ad says it's a TRD blower. Not sure when it was installed. Hopefully I'll find all that out tomorrow. I'm waiting on the carproof report and the seller has agreed to get an inspection done by Toyota.

What usually fails around the 200k mark? And I'm assuming you mean 200k mile mark

Actually I did write "200k mile mark ",lol,
You misunderstood, I've not heard of any SC'd Tundras making this far, failures from heat and pressure usually occur well before that. Folks that have them run em hard. If I had one I know I would! Does this help?

I feel your pain. When I was waiting for my truck to arrive my wife's van pulled double duty. I don't know how couples that share a car do it, it sucks.

Well the wife and I are both on parental leave at the moment.. our daughter was born last week... so we're good with one car for a while, exact the Kia soul is too damn small. We can barely get the stroller in the back.

If you buy start making plans to electively replace the drivetrain. I start with the engine. I'd do a complete rebuild of the engine and supercharger. Ultimately a donor totaled truck could be of great value if you get the truck at the right price.

I baby mine most of the time but open it up once in awhile and had no issues. I'd have a trained Toyota Tec look it over plus make sure the computer has been programmed correctly for the SC.

Other than passing the occasional car, my SC doesn't get much of a work out. I would not say any truck with a SC is driven hard and may be bad because of it. I thought I would get a lot more chances to use the 504hp in mine, but living out in the sticks I don't get the opportunity to run many cars or trucks. So 95% of the time I don't use the SC as it was intended.

My advice check the dip stick, make sure the oil is clean. Make sure there are no oil leaks (Cam Towers) and see how it runs. If all checks well, have fun. I think he's a little high on price just due to the amount of KM's on it.
