Installed the magic from @memario1214 known as HotTails yesterday. VERY pleased with this kit. Super simple to install and made a helluva difference in the back-end lighting on the truck.

That’s mostly just sissoo trash, but my neighbors have a palo verde that can go straight to hell. I’m pretty excited the driveway at the new house has zero trees on top of it…

Those are the devils trees. Same though, I’ve got a few neighbors with them, and during these months when we get those strong random winds, my yard gets littered with those stupid yellow flowers.

    MMMM.... YES :bananadance:

I just cut a set of tails open this morning, and will be knocking out something similar to you. Finally! Might add a couple little bits of "flair" though, because YOLO.

I was thinking about putting my chase lights in the tails where the square reflector is between the upper and lower bowls, but my confidence in getting those sealed up correctly is pretty low. Interested to see what you come up with.

Thought this morning was going to be an easy job of front brakes and an oil change. Nope. My jack somehow got jacked up (pun intended) during the move and decided it didn’t want to jack anymore, so brakes were out. Then what I thought would be a 20 minute oil change job turned into 5 hours after finding the filter housing seized after the last dealer oil change. Had to destroy the OEM plastic housing and drop my engine and cat protection plates to finally get the thing to spin off with some rotational persuasion with a hammer and screw driver.

    Holy crap
Mine was on tight, but I managed to get it free with an air impact after motherfucking it for a while.
Put the aluminum one back on with a torque wrench…

Following up after my oil filter housing shenanigans, I decided it was time for fresh hardware on the TRD skid plate. I bought the skid secondhand and it was missing the front two bolts and the shims for the top of the rear crossmember. I Jerry-rigged some various solutions over the last couple of years, but always ended up with creaking after a while. Everything seems tight and solid now, so we’ll see how it holds up.

Sucks, sorry. I had the same issue on my first OC on the Sequoia. Crappy aftermarket plastic housing that had no center support doo hickey, I had to buy a full OEM although I had a metal housing I never used on the Tundra (it already had it) but you can't get the long doo hickey on it's own. :(

Luckily I already had the metal housing on hand and ready to go, and the center support survived my Hulk Smash fit of rage. The metal housing I got came with the shorter support for the 3.5L, so I’m guessing you’d have to buy the Tundra plastic housing to get that, right?

Yup, that's what I did. Now I have a plastic housing I will never use.

I’m using some cheapy automatic deflators. They work pretty well in my experience but I’ve heard they can be inconsistent or hard to get dialed in. Right now I’m running them at 15 psi but need to bump that up since I usually end up doing some higher speed stuff at some point during a trail run.

On top of the brake job I still haven’t gotten to since moving to the new house, I now have two other projects to knock out some time soon when the weather cools off a bit - Durobumps for the front end and Rago dash plate for inside

I’ll be getting the rear bump stops soon, definitely going through you on those. And still need to order UCAs, but that’s moved down on the list for a little while.

I’ve heard fender washers do just fine, so that’s my plan for now. I’m not mounting tablets or anything, so that should do just fine for my use case.

Started to pull apart the front end to do brakes this morning but decided it was too damn hot out. Settled on getting the Durobumps on for today. My quick test drive over the speed bumps on my street have me happy with the results.

Since my kid decided he needed to brave the heat and play basketball in the driveway, I figured I could knock out the Rago plate install. Pretty easy mod and should allow me to spend way more money than I want on Ram mounts and other shit…
