Looking to replace the fogs on my 16' pro. Is there a considerable difference between the pro and sport. I was thinking wide cornering. I want to leave my stock headlights stock and eventually install a 40" hood scoop s8 spot setup. But now for the fog replacement. Wondering if the pro is worth the change for the fog. Or the sport will do the job. Oh and on the fogs I was gonna go with amber

The Squadron-R Sport in Wide Cornering (Amber or White) will give you at least 2-3x the usable light over OEM. They are the most "street friendly" in our squadron series and we have many customers running them without issues. They are not DOT approved so please be careful with other traffic. The Pros will exceed 4-5x and will provide an amazing amount of nearfield lighting! It comes down to how much light you're needing. There is a nice jump from OEM to Sport and another nice jump from Sport to Pro.

I think I will go with the Amber Sport for everyday driving street friendly version. Now the kit allows the system to be intergrated with the factory switch. Thats pretty cool. And when I really need more light I will install the 40"S8 in the front hood with the SDHQ brackets. But when I really need it. I'm not racing baja anytime soon. thanks

Could you compare the light output/patterns of two XL80's vs one equivalently priced light bar, S8 or Onx6? Both in a combo beam pattern.

It's a little hard to compare the pricing and output since we offer so many different options.

The OnX6 and XL Series lights will share the same patterns for Spot, Driving/Combo, and Wide Cornering. The OnX6 Racer and XL Racer offer roughly 40% more distance over their standard models.

A 20" OnX6 Hi-Power features the same LEDs in our XL80 and XL Racer (8 XL80 LEDs, 4 XL Racer LEDs)
Performance wise this would be nearly identical to a Pair of XL80s in Driving/Combo and one XL Racer Spot.

Absolutely true! I recently bought and installed some Squadron Sport for my truck and they are awesome. Huge difference between the stock fog lights.

Any chance we can see a picture of how the light looks from inside the cab? I'm wondering if I should get the amber or not. Thanks.

Having had both amber and white in that location i'd recommend the white up higher

We don't make these with an Amber LED but can certainly build them with an Amber Spot Lens or Amber Work/Scene. This will be a Yellow Amber compared to an Amber LED which is typically Orange in color.
Please call me at (800)422-5292x114 to custom order these with the Amber Lens. $192.60 is the Forum Price for each unit.

Looking to do the Squadron Sport fog light replacement with the wide/cornering...pros/cons to amber vs white, or is it all just personal color preference?

Baja Designs makes a Amber lens cover that you can put on and take off at your desire. You can also buy the permanent amber lens separate.

If you spend a lot of time on dusty road go with the amber.

Amber will provide reduced glare in poor conditions compared to white light output. This is great if you encounter fog, rain, snow, dust, etc. Our lights feature uService technology which allows you to easily change pattern or color in a matter of minutes. This will allow you to go from amber to white or vice versa without buying a new light. We will be adding Rock Guards to our Squadron-R series later this year. These rock guards will snap over the bezel of the light and quickly change the color of the output. This would avoid any tools having to be used to change colors.

    Safety Safety Safety!

Many of us know that traveling in groups can create lots of dust. This creates very poor visibility and can sometimes result in minor fender benders or collisions on the trail.
Here is a perfect example of our S2 Series Auxiliary Lights in the Amber Spot pattern as a Dust/Safety Light. While the vehicle is mostly hidden the S2 Pro, Amber Spot shines through allowing you to easily detect the vehicle ahead. This can also be very beneficial in other poor conditions like fog, rain, and snow!
