So I can’t find the solution. I deleted my profile & recreated it, ensured all my settings show my iPhone is connected, as the main profile & linked to my key.

I used ‘Hey Toyota’ to try and send a text & it said no phone connected. I tried using siri & it worked fine to send a text. Now after resetting my profile, my ‘Hey Toyota’ doesn’t recognize my voice command beyond waking it up. I’m connected using Bluetooth.

Anyone encounter this or have possible work through?

If you’re using carplay, I don’t think you can send a text with the Toyota voice assistant. You would need to turn off carplay so your phone is connected directly to the Toyota system like the image shows below. I think the multimedia manual goes into some depth on what the system can do. I would just use Siri to control all my phone apps and use the Toyota VA to control the radio stations and other non-phone systems.

OK tks, I was in that menu and saw that the carplay toggle worked for phone, media etc so left if checked. I didnt realize it set it to ONLY work with carplay. I thought it was to allow car play shared access. In any event, I will try that change after work and see if that fixes it. I agree though I will likely just use car play.
