Yes they are, I install 3M tape on the back of the light strips so they stick very well to the underside of the bed tie down rails.

Ok got it. So it’s a strip down one side under-rail, and is connected to the next rail against the cab and then jumps to the other side under-rail? How are they connected together? Also is the switch for in the bed or in the cab etc?

Yes, the lights have a semi-short wire harness connecting then together and gets tucked into the corners of the bed.

I'd love to look over the instructions for my 2017! I think it's in my wheelhouse, but wanted to make sure before I purchased!

Shameless plug here. I installed this kit on my Tundra last year. Did the under hood lights too. So nice and convenient. Didn't realize how I had come to rely on these lights until I bought another truck with a tonneau. First time I opened the tailgate at night I reached for the light switch......D'oh! There's no kit specific to a 6.5' Sierra bed on Matt's site, but I think the Tundra kit should work. When I get some time next month I'm going to order and install it. I could put my own together from components I source, but it would be cheesy looking and not nicely finished like Matt's kits.

Hey Matt. I'm interested in getting the bed/softtopper kit for my tundra along with the hood kit. Mind sending me instructions so I can see the process before hand? thanks.

I just installed Matt's dual color bed light kit. Its great to have lights under the cover now. The kit installed easily and works really well. My only problem was the drill bit supplied was a hair too small for the light switch. I had to use a socket to hammer the switch into the hole. Its not ever coming out.

I can confirm now that Matt's light kit for the Tundra is a perfect fit for the 6.5' Sierra/Silverado bed. Got my kit delivered on Friday and installed it. The only mod I had to do was to the battery connection. Mine is a Duramax truck so the battery cable interface is not as convenient as the Tundra. I installed the under hood lights too. Gotta give Matt props. He assembles a squared away kit with more than you need to install. Instructions are clear with images for the dunces like me among us. Now I can see my stuff at night. Still have my Tundra too. Both trucks are ready for night life.

hey @mattgecko I went through this thread and I didn't see anyone ask, but between green and red which is the lowest intensity? It's dark af all around where I live and I can't be having bright lights

The UV color are the dimmest of the bunch.

Suppling the lights with a lower voltage (or dimmer) would lower the light output.

Hey @mattgecko can you give me a high level overview of the install? For a camper shell where you tapping into power? I’m a rookie with wiring low voltage stuff so just wanted some details before I buy the kit.

Looking at the dual color kit for my 2020 CM Tundra but have seven questions:
1-what is the power source for the lights? battery or tied to vehicle
2-what holes are required to be drilled in the truck?
    3-where is the switch mounted?
4-have you done these with the Renegade tonneau cover?
5-I also have a BedRug. Is that an issue?
    6-Can you do 6500k white/red dual?
7-How does the hood engine light connect to power?
    Thanks.

Hi - hate to be a pain, but could I also get a set of install directions? Want to see what’s involved, and if a set might work for my brother-in-law’s truck too. Thanks!
