looks awesome!! I've been a diesel guy for a LONG time. I got my tundra in October and its the first gas truck I've had in about 12 years. I'm more of a duramax guy, BUT I love the ram colormatched trucks. Still may get a cummins on the next truck go-round. Now go get a trans for that thing and get some tuning (and remove the emissions junk) and you'll love it even more. Looks awesome!

Yeah lol. Decided now isn’t the best time to spend 50k going down a rabbit hole on a project. Sold all the toys and now I just have the Cummins. lol

Drove to East Texas from AZ! Averaged a hand calculated 20.8 MPG on the trip with speeds ranging from 70-80 mph for most of the interstates!

Just sold my 18 Ram Dually to move back down to a 1/2 ton. Just wasn't utilizing it anymore.

I had an S&B cold air on it that I let go with the truck but I have a new in box Banks Ram Air and new filter as well as a Banks Pedal monster new in box as well. I can cut you a hell of a deal if interested.

Just installed the Banks Ram-Air intake before my road trip, thanks though! I hear you, I honestly do not need a Diesel 3/4 ton truck, however I do really like it and plan to keep it!

Not sure if I gained any power or efficiency with it, however the truck sounds a little deeper and the turbo whistle is better!

see I'm in the same boat, I don't NEED one, but the way prices are going for 1/2 ton trucks (GMC 1500 Denali ultimate over 80k) I'm considering getting back in one. Not to mention all of the "amenities" that they want to start charging for, I might just go bare bones little bit older cummins or dmax. The 3 dmaxes I had before my tundra were getting 25-27 MPG on the highway with 35's. Built trans and tuning, you can't beat that. Only bad thing is repairs are usually a lot more to fix

If you had an edge cts3 monitor (or similar) you could see if the CAI made a difference. Before I purchased my Banks CAI, my air intake temperatures down the highway were at least 15-20 degrees hotter than ambient air. That’s ridiculous and robbing me of power/efficiency. In town the temperature would be around 40* over ambient. The intake would just get heat soaked.

After the CAI from Banks was installed it now matches the ambient air temp. Around town it’s 10-15 degrees over ambient.

Another thing I would seriously consider....

Yep thats on the To-Do list just an expensive piece! I purchased a full EGR and DPF/DEF delete for when this becomes a full time farm truck in Texas then I won't have to worry about any of these parts causing problems!

Still impressed with this truck. I made this same road trip two years ago in my tundra and averaged 12.7 mpg, i've dropped to about 19.2 mpg but still pleased with that!

7,500 mile oil change and fuel filter change. Switched from Amsoil Signature Series to Shell Rotella T6 (less than half the price). OEM Oil Filter and OEM Fuel Filters. Also added a Fumoto Valve since Diesel oil is messy!

Haven't been on this forum in quite a while! Odometer rolled over 67,000 miles and still running strong!

Recent mods have been Revmax Transmission Pan and Thermal Bypass Valve doing what I can to keep the 68RFE going strong!
