I've gone back and tried to see if I could save money by doing the limited instead of the 1794. By the time you add all the options back on, you really don't save much. Maybe a few grand. It's the delivery fee, accessories, tax, etc.... It's a lot.

Looking forward to hearing about everyone’s iForce Max experiences. I have planned on getting a good 200-300k miles out of my truck. But if the iForce Max is a hit, and especially if Toyota introduces some kind of heavy duty payload package (at least 1800lb), then I may jump sooner.

confirmed meaning I told the dealer what I’d like and I got the exact truck I wanted. Build date is this week or next. I started at #3 in line.

The TRD pro I drove in the parking lot was awesome. The iforce max is snappy and instant. Looking forward to hauling ass

A recurring theme on some of the youtube videos seems to be the non-hybrid version hesitating off the line. Not sure if it's a pre-production thing or not. Nice to know the hybrid is instantaneous.

When Sweers said it was for performance rather than economy, this is what I figured he was talking about. Instant power from the electric motor that seamlessly transitions to the TTv6 without the turbo lag.

unfortunately i couldnt justify the $3500 markup of the hybrid over the regular engine just to solve the lag or loss of the rear seat storage. i guess i can learn to throttle/brake it to compensate or just learn to adjust for the lag. cheaper in the long run for me :)

the loss of the rear seat storage on our 2018 platinum was a long term lesson we learned owning our 2018 for 5yrs. when we had our 2016 tacoma that under seat storage was never a second thought until we had to live with it on our 2018 tundra

Pulling trigger on a 1794 hybrid with the options I want. Only down side is its a 6.5 bed which is great when loading up bikes and stuff, but don't like the visual proportions and extra foot day to day driving. Build date two weeks from now.

If his is an off-road package and in a color I’d take and he wants white I’d entertain it

1794 black ext, saddle tan int, adv package, power running boards, bed liner, etc.

Didn’t choose the color/options…don’t really want black…it was available so I put my name on it. No trd package.

Damn we were there until no OR package lol. He's looking for 6.5 ft with saddle interior & OR package as long as it's not blue, red, or mesquite.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
I really wish Toyota equipped all Tundras with the rear locker regardless of package. Then it wouldn’t be as big a deal if the truck did or didn’t have the TRD Off-road package, because an enthusiast may be tossing new tires and different shocks on anyway.

    agreed ,

And just because I like the platinum trim with all the goodies doesn’t mean I don’t want a locker

Exactly, my dream build would have been platinum, hybrid, long bed, off-road package and advanced package

Anybody know allocation timeline? The First week of May I was able to put my name on a hybrid limited the dealer had just got allocated . I was told 2 or 3 months. Talked to dealer this week to see if there was any progress and I was told no , not even a build date. Does this sound right? I know crazy times but Seems like everyone who has got an allocation has a build Date .

While I’m no fan of air suspensions the rest of that sounds good.

Toyota should offer the Platinum with TRD Off-road package as an option, and offer 18” wheels as an option on all the trim levels as well. I don’t like the way 20” wheels/tires usually ride. It’s a truck, not a sport sedan, I want it to have more sidewall to do truck stuff when appropriate and ride better on the road. I’m not buying a truck to carve up twisty two lanes, I have a better tool for that.

The Platinum is the best looking trim outside of the body color matched SR5 and TRD Pro, and I prefer a black interior.

Agreed, but I also dont like all the gloss black trim on a lot of the colors that comes on the platinum for 22. The air suspension I want for towing and weight in the bed, I'll be having Adventure Motors KC put their airbag kit in when I get my truck lifted their next weekend.

There is a temp vin# on the build sheet (or whatever it's called) they gave me. I was just trying to get a better idea of how long I'd be waiting, according to dealer they have no new information since may 5th when it was allocated to them not even an estimated build date. Just curious if anyone had this experience at all

Just passed up precontracting (2-4week ETA) a hybrid limited lunar rock 4x4 trd off-road from Torrance Toyota (socal) after they wouldn’t budge off the 10k markup… citing the 25 leads they have on selling the truck. The perfect truck for probably 80k OTD after taxes.
