    And you think ppl care what you or your service guy thinks? Ppl will always buy new because it’s a luxury of having. I’m pretty sure 8/10 tundra buyers know of the issues, and will still pay a markup to buy one.
    But sure let’s state the obvious on a tundra forum :der:

    Honestly, none of it is as bad as its being made out to be.
    I tend to not let any of the negatives get me because its really not a bother or an issue.

    I would think that 90% of it is your local dealer/service.
    I've had mine to the dealer twice for the fuel gauge thing. I dropped my truck off, they gave me a ride to work (I was actually early to work so was not an inconvenience).
    They looked at my fuel gauge, hooked their laptop to it to see if my truck was complaining about anything, then reset the fuel gauge by pulling the battery. They also re-flashed my ECU for the camera due to the recall, then picked me up at work to bring me back to the dealer. Not an inconvenience at all.

    The second time I took it - same thing - take me to work and checked it out again. This time they contacted Toyota who said "We're on it".

    I really can't ask for much more.

    Stuff breaks - doesn't matter whether its Gen1, 2, or 3. I feel confident that if I have an issue that "they're on it". I would say that no matter what generation you own you probably feel that way.

    The cameras are cool, the 14 inch screen is cool, the digital rear view mirror is cool. Ugly is in the beholder. None of the negativity bothers me and rolls off my back.

    My only advice is you should have test driven it only because it was a chance to experience something new.

    I've owned my 2014 since 12/2014.
    It was kinda a new year model, but actually a 2007-2013 with a few different parts.
    Besides maintenance, my 2014 has gone into the shop 1 time.
    My 2014 has had the check engine light come on 1 time.
    Both of these events were because my cats were stolen.

    Your truck has gone in for warranty work twice, FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, and it hasn't even been a year yet..
    Yes, my dealer offers rides to work as well.
    But when I go in at 11:30 am and get off at midnight, that does me no good.
    As well I've got better things to do than take my truck to the dealership for repairs.

    They offered for me to test drive the 2022.
    There was no reason to waste my time with it, I'm not going to buy it.
    I was only there to get an update on the catalytic converter parts delivery date.
    Sitting in a 2022 was enough for me and it prompted me to write the OP.
    But you guys are still bitching about it..

    I can patiently wait 5 or 6 years while they get the kinks worked out.
    I'm in no hurry to buy a Gen 3, I'm happy with the 2014 I have.
    If God forbid my 2014 was totaled, I'd be looking for a used 2020 or 2021.

    I'm ecstatic you guys are happy with your 2022s.
    Good thing the dealership service waiting area has free coffee and cookies.

    I hope y'all bought extended warranties.
    I bought 3: In 1997, 2005, and 2014, and never did get to use them.
