I’m curious to see how it’s different on the hybrid. I heard in one of the reviews that the hybrid rides lower. It’s part of the reason I’m asking. Then again will the weight of the batteries help at all? Or are they too far forward?

Made the adjustment on mine today…took about 15 minutes total. I took it up the entire available adjustment…in the “High” position my wheel openings are 40” from the ground and 39” in the “Neutral” position. The ride felt a lot smoother, without the sudden bump stops I’ve feeling. That, however, is purely subjective since I “wanted” it to feel smoother.

Drove my truck around quite a bit today and that adjustment definitely made the ride smoother…didn’t hit the bump stops at all. I might try adjusting it back down a little since it does feel a little bit floaty.

leave about 1/16" of exposed adjustment slot next to the bolt head...that seems to be a good spot

After the adjustment to raise the rear does it still self level to some degree when towing a small trailer or have a load in the bed? I would think it would add air up to whatever the max psi is.

Thanks! I mean all we're doing is faking out the sensor so in theory if if senses a lower ride height it should add air to "level" back out to where it thinks it's level.

Correct. Were only adjusting the neutral position. Once it senses some sag, it'll lift to the new neutral. We're not going over oem parameters since it's all oem adjustment range

You can definitely adjust it down a bit from there and you won't bottom out but you obviously lose height.

Do you have AVS or just the rear air suspension?

I wanted to see what's actually happening underneath the truck; so today I stuck a GoPro underneath the rear of my truck and took off down a local road. This road is not a bad road. It's well maintained with no breaks in the pavement. It just has some relatively minor dips here and there that, as many of you are aware, really upsets these trucks equipped with the air suspension. My truck, on a flat surface, has only about 1/2 an inch of space between the bump stop and the rear axel. I'll be taking care of this little matter soon, but figured I'd share the footage incase anyone is curious what it actually looks like in action.

You've now spent more time complaining about it than what it would have taken you to adjust the levers, congratulations

You are absolutely correct. I’ve edited my previous post to remove the complaining. It’s not my intent to add drama for drama’s sake.

The primary purpose of my previous post wasn’t to complain; so my apologies if it came across that way. I just wanted to provide visual proof of what’s happening so that those with less than impressive dealers can be shown what’s happening instead of them having to take someone’s word for it. I understand that some folks, no matter how simple the perceived fix is, don’t want to tackle it themselves.

    Seawolf,

    thx for the video.
I have been dealing with my dealer and toyota corporate since day 1, Feb 8th.
They have determined that the vehicle it set up to factory specs. I have driven three other Tundras with the AVS Air Suspension and they all perform the same.
My hopes are that with enough complaints Toyota will perform a recall to make the proper adjustments.
I have not wanted to make the adjustment myself but I have had enough and will finally do it this weekend.

    You're welcome, gowithit13.

I was in the manual over the weekend (for an unrelated reason) and ran across page 366-367 where it talks about the air suspension settings. In the manual, it states that the "HI" mode is supposed to be 1.6" higher than "N" mode. Interestingly, it also states that "LO" mode is supposed to be 1.2" lower than "N" mode. In the case of my truck that only sits 1/2" from the bump stop, it can't possibly be sitting at factory specs. Either that, or the manual is incorrect because for "LO" mode to be 1.2" lower than "N" mode then the distance between the bump stop and the axle would have to be at least 1.2" in "N" mode.

It stinks that you can't get a favorable response from your dealer or Toyota, but fortunately from what others have said it should be a relatively easy adjustment. Just make sure you're on a flat, level surface when you do it and take measurements before and after. I finally got the recall notice on mine for the bolts. I plan on asking them to take a look at it when I take it in for that. If they don't want to do anything about the ride height then I'll just do it myself as well.

I sent a couple posts with pictures from this forum to my dealer before picking up my new truck. They made the adjustments for me ahead of time and charged me an hour which also included installing the TRD skid plate. They were unfamiliar with the lever adjustments as mine was the first through their dealership with air suspension. As a side note the two levers were set completely different from each other straight from the factory. I have had zero issues hitting the bump stops and the ride is excellent especially in sport + mode.

This is the first leveling arm I have seen outside of Westcott. The webpage references a front leveling kit that doesn't seem to be available yet. Maybe once available, it will be easier to get your hands on.

If the arm is adjusted all the way up is there still more travel left when hitting the high setting? Or will it do nothing cause its maxed out?

So, I certainly don’t want to sound stupid but, when you adjust the levers to raise height, should the slot be below or above the locknut??

The nut should be towards the bottom, with the space of the slot above the nut. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...BTW I read after making the adjustment it's good to manually raise the truck up and then lower back to N so it resets / recognizes the new position.

Here is before (2”level only) and after (2” level and adjustment of rear nut). Took 30 seconds to adjust rear.
