    Hi all,

I upgraded my Tacoma amp from a Sony XMS400d to a Kicker Key 200. I want to put the Sony in my wife’s Tundra. I have the harness from autoharness.com and have replaced the tweeters, front and rear door speakers. The doors are 4 ohm and the tweeters are probably 2 ohm. Can I just take the stock amp out and hook up the speakers to the Sony. Or do I need an LOC? The Sony has high level inputs. Thanks!

Edit: I’m not an expert at audio but can do basic stuff.

What did you replace the tweeters, front and rear door speakers with? I have a 2020 TRD Sport so i'm interested in what you find out! I almost bought that Sony amp too

I have some Hertz tweeters that I got from James/12 volts and Hertz X 170 for the front doors. I’m putting Kicker 46CSC674 in the rear doors. I got the speakers from Crutchfield. Got the amp straight from Sony. It’s not a bad amp but the Kicker Key is a little more adjustable. I’ll let you know when I get it done. May be a few weeks. Thanks.

Thanks for the link! The Sony amp is just an amp with no adjustments. The Kicker amp is in my Tacoma and I did use the microphone to adjust the sound. Fantastic little amp! I’ll definitely post my results if I ever get the time to swap out the stock Tundra amp. Thanks again!

I finally got the Sony amp in the Tundra. The hardest part for me was figuring out how to connect the 4438 harness (https://autoharnesshouse.com/41112.html) to the amp wires. This helped me a lot: (https://autoharnesshouse.com/entune_pinout.txt). In fact, I was ready to just leave the oem amp hooked up just so I wouldn’t screw up her truck! But it turned out okay. I zip-tied the Sony to the original amp’s bracket after removing the oem amp. Sounds great!
