Maxxis Razr AT LT 285/75R18 - $102

Simple tire has those tires for $145 each. At $102 each you could sell for $500 a set and make some money!

 

Those were actually 120 each so not really worth it.

Selfishly this makes me not feel as bad for paying full price for these. I was going to be a little frustrated at myself if ya’ll got that good of a deal.

 

Add another to the list, 15" maxis tires are waiting at the door when I got home

Alright, this has been a little bit of a roller coaster trying to deal with these tires, so here's the breakdown:

-I chatted online with Walmart customer service, they said to bring them back to a walmart auto center
-I bring them to the closest walmart with an auto center, bring them in to the desk near the lift bays, and an older lady behind the desk was not happy that i brought them to her. after some back and forth with her on her phone and walkie talkie, she said 2 things, go to customer service and you need to contract walmart online. I knew it wasn't going anywhere with her, so off to customer service i went.
-Luckily customer service wasn't busy and the nice ladies were trying to help me, but at first they said "you gotta go to the auto center".....i thought "ohh boy, here we go", luckily they quickly looped in some supervisors and they were scratching their heads about what to do because the sku doesn't match the order.
-Supervisors said to call walmart online order service for me, so the nice lady called and was probably transferred back and forth about 4 times before they said they didn't know what to do and call back in an hour when a manager was available.

At this point i'm irritated, but i know its not their fault...i try to keep my cool as much as possible, because 1) i believe in karma *remember this for later* and 2) it doesn't get you anywhere, and i'm not going to make a scene in a walmart.
The auto department supervisor got back from his lunch and came over and said that i'm about the 4th person in the last month that has had this issue, so somethings going on at the distribution centers. He kinda hinted that they dont take back orders like these because it comes out of their bottom line...understandable i guess, he said to try to push for them to give me a shipping lable to fedex it back so i dont have to lug it around again.

I get home, and go ahead and call the 1-800 number, instantly hear a heavy indian/middle eastern accent....ohh boy, this is gonna be rough to understand. I lay it out to her, and after being on hold for a few minutes, she comes back and says that the items are marked as un-returnable, and she will refund the full amount and i can keep the items. Whaaaaaaaa?

I'm not jumping for joy just yet because i haven't seen anything confirming the refund and i've been burned in the past by Amazon for similar stuff like this, but best case....i've got some brand new tires to sell and make money on this adventure, worst case i'm just going to file a chargeback through paypal and go for another round on the rollercoaster.

I'm hoping that these will come back in stock and hopefully get them for the same price.....i'll probably order them through a store so that it will be less hassle if the wrong ones arrive (thats also what the auto supervisor recomended).


Update 6/8/22:
Didn't want to bump this thread back up to the top, so i thought i'd just give an update.
After a couple weeks, no refund was ever issued. I called walmart to figure out whats up and it turns out a refund was never processed....not surprising at all. They said to bring the tires into any walmart and call them and they will help process the refund.
well, i take them to the store....call them.....and what do you know, no one has any idea on the phone or in the store about what to do. Luckily the returns supervisor got involved and agreed that what was going on was f'd up, and processed the return and looks like it finally went through....

I got the lowly Kumho 205/55R15's...... I could have made use of those 235/45R18 Maxxis tires some of you got. Oh well. Did the same as the others and went to the Auto Center first where they told me to go to Customer Service. Got there and they refunded me ASAP. It took about 48 hours to see the money back in my account though. No biggie.

 

They’re supposed to send over FedEx labels later today and have a pickup scheduled for Wednesday

I might have to try going to a different walmart if i dont get my refund. haven't seen anything yet...

 

Returning them wasn't a big deal. The tires weigh 19lbs each, and all for of those tiny suckers fit into the shopping cart I grabbed from the parking lot.

 

So I ordered 8 of each size.

if you ordered the 285/75/18’s you got Kuhmo’s. If you ordered 35x12.5x17’s you got the Maxxis. At least that’s how it panned out for me.

 

Returned to Walmart today. Went straight to CS as other recommended. Didn’t bother trying to get the price locked in for the correct tires

Same here, just wanted my money back.

 

In store customer service can’t help you. Its a giant run around. And when you call online customer service you get an overseas customer service. Worthless when i said i wanted to order the actual tires but they did credit my account. Has not gone through yet but impossible to speak to someone in customer service in the US who can actually help.
