Push button and grab the handle to unlock the doors on my car. Key fob stays in my pocket. One less thing to have to hold when I get out the car. In the truck I have to hold the keys, phone and my beer. I only have 2 hands.

In the tundra the keyless works for me. I just keep the key fob in my pocket. Fewer keys in my life is good.

in the ford it has a fob with built in key. Which stays in the ignition 99% of the time. The buttons on the door are my access in and out. Can lock with key in switch running or not.

    So each has its benefits.

You might be! I know you live up in the sticks in your tree,
    [IMG]
but if you ever lost your phone and someone picked it up it's guaranteed gone. Not to mention any sensitive information on there is theirs for the taking.

Not to say that you couldn't do it with a locked phone, I'm sure an enterprising person could.

^^Couldn’t have said it better. Plus I hate having to find a place for the key fob in the vehicle and then remembering to take it with you…

The only issue I’ve ever had with a vehicle ignition was a worn lock cylinder in a Silverado so I could make a case for push button to be more reliable…

My 19 tundra is key start but my work car, 17 Buick, is push button. Honestly, I'd just prefer if they were the same, pros and cons to both. They lock and unlock differently. My biggest gripe is all the steering wheel controls are completely backwards and upside down from one to another along with the intermittent wiper settings.

Smart handles with a push button start are some of the things I actually miss from my two previous vehicles. It only took me a week to get used to having a key again, though. To keep it secure/safe on a push button equipped car I would look into something like a Ravelco anti theft device.

nope I don't either. Don't see the point since I don't have credit cards saved on it. If you lose your phone you can lock it remotely anyway so why bother with lock screens.

Push start for me. Had Lexus vehicles for way too long to go back to hitting a fob button to unlock the door and fishing keys out of my pocket.

I voted keyless. I hate the key start. I did the crank start mod. Just go to the front of the truck and turn the crank a couple of times and you are off. No more keys to screw with. Careful it doesn't backfire tho or it can break your arm.

That's not me. That's Jimbo. He's my neighbor 4 trees down. He's a little weird, keeps going on about aliens and CIA listening devices.

Getting into my phone won't do anyone much good. The only sensitive stuff on there are my email and banking apps, both of which have their own 2 factor authentication to access. Spotify and Audible which are the main two things I use my phone for, are done through dummy emails and pre-paid credit cards. Nothing else has anything important.

I have vehicles with both. In a weird way I dig the tundra key. Is an old powerful V8 truck with a retro key. Love it. From a security standpoint even the fob-less key has a chip so its pretty secure. When I get out of the house I have to lock the house with the keys so I have the keys in my hand already. If you are hanging with others you need to grab the fob to unlock all doors so you have the keys in your hand. When I reach my destination I lock the truck with they key fob as I walk away so, again I am touching the fob. Same when I come back to the house, I have to grab the keys to open the house. So the "keyless" option doesn't really prevent me from handling the keys a whole bunch of times. However, it can be nice to be keyless when you are in the mall with your hands full with bags.

But you should not spend too much time in the mall and your Tundra should have a key...

Push start. I didn't care when I bought the truck but now I am spoiled. I don't have to unlock the doors. I just grab the handle, get in and push the button. The truck starts and the seat adjusts. I love it.

Push button all day long. I had it on my 2005 Prius that I bought when I sold my first Tundra the last time gas prices were $4-5/gallon. How Toyota had the all-around smart key in a 2005 Prius but took almost 2 decades to get it in a much more expensive truck makes zero sense to me.

Toyota still does this. The Camry LE and SE gas engines have key starts, but the hybrid versions have push to start. Hybrid requires it but surprised not standard across the line.

It might now, but the 2009 Prius I owned later (lower model) required the key to be put in the slot. I guess it really didn't have an ignition per se, but the 05 just had to be in the car with me.

Keyless looks awesome, my wife loves it. We take precautions though. Is way to easy to steal vehicles with this though.

You can use a faraday pouch for your FOB or something like a Ravelco plug to prevent this kind of theft.

Yep, that's what we do. Don't know of anyone else (who we know in-person) who uses one. Being able to steal something this easy is seriously messed up.

Take it out of the pouch when approaching your vehicle.

There have been cases where thieves even target people in parking lots as the victim exits their car and walks to the store/mall, etc.

I might as well fumble around with a key if I have to take it out of my pocket and then remove the fob from the bag. It sounds worse than a key.

Push start was something I didn't want before I bought the truck, but have really grown to enjoy being able to grab the handle to unlock the truck. Like with most changes we just get used to it as times change. I come from the motorcycle world, and few people are left that are complaining how they removed kick starters from bikes. Bikes start with a button now, just like more and more cars will.

Yep, and on trail 30-40 miles from any road (dirt bike), people now carry battery packs in case something happens.

I have a key start on my 2019 but had keyless on my last Tacoma and on my wife's last two ES. The convenience of the hands free is awesome. If I worry about the security I'll probably get a GPS locater installed. Jmo.
