    Hey All,

Came here to shamelessly benefit from the knowledge base...and maybe provide some generic experience with vehicles other than the Tundra until I have one in the driveway.

I'm trying to grab a Tundra at $40ish or less to replace a company car. Seeing options with 2019s and older so far. Wishing I could wait until late summer as the prices should continue to drop a bit with gas prices but, new job means some new circstances to quickly jump.

Is there a year sticking out as best or worst from 2017 on up? Specific issues to inspect and watch? (I'll dive thru the forum as well.)

Last, some relevant history: Drove a couple RAM 1500s since 2016 and no, not a single problem and enjoyed the ride quality. (But I also got rid of each one at 60k miles.) Otherwise, lotsa vehicles and lots of miles over time.

    Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum and greetings from Minnesota. Somewhere in the forum is a list of model year vs total recalls for the gen 2.5. Seems to me that 2017 came out on top. Good luck in your search.

Welcome from NC! 2017 was the last year that did not have the Safety Sense system. The TSS started on the 2018 year model.

Helpful stuff and appreciate the welcoming.

Found a 2019 double cab that saves thousands from crew cab for the obvious reasons of space. Anyone have comment on life with the smaller dbl cab scenario? I'll only have my teenagers in it occasionally with me. Otherwise, I really like having that longer bed utility.
Also, truck has 39k miles, 4x2, 4.6L. I'm assuming a good many bulletproof miles but please prove me wrong now before I jump.
    And again, thanks!

What’s the asking on that one? 2wd and 4.6 should knock it down a bit. Which trim level? SR5? Limited?

Edit: oh yeah, welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the welcome and response...which I am no doubt running too long for an intro thread I'm sure.

Truck is an SR just under $33k on asking price. Haven't driven it yet but looks about 90%+ in pics.

    A 3 year old 2wd SR DC 4.6 brings $33k? Crazy.

    Mission accomplished...

2019 SR Dbl Cab 4x2 w 4.6L in the driveway tonight. Good basic truck that I look forward to being able to depend on.

Now to keep myself in check about upgrades...

Pics to come soon. Thanks all for the welcomes and input to date.
