I hate that. My insurance company is based out east. I just have my broker call them. She handles everything insurance related for me. She's also my neighbor. Works out great, when I see her in her yard and I need something I just holler across the fence "Hey! Tomorrow can you call Aviva and tell them they're a bunch of gouging pricks?" Being a Newfie she'll holler back "Yes b'y!"

We all understand our trucks consume more gas than a Prius and we can live with that. But overall the price of gas going up for everyone sucks and theres no measurable way of telling when it will stop. Oh and also the idea that the solution is everyone will buy EVs sucks. Like poor folks can afford EVs.

Like our infrastructure can handle the extra draw from recharging millions of EV's. Systems nearly (sometimes do) crash when people just turn on the AC as it is.

That’s the beauty of it . We won’t need A/C once everyone’s driving EVs . ( sarcasm in case it wasn’t obvious ). lol

Easy, you just have to tow a diesel generator (and a tank of diesel to feed it) behind the trailer to keep your EV plugged in and charging. I don't see what's so difficult about this.

So now I need an EV that can tow a fifth wheel/gooseneck so I can tow the generator on a trailer behind that. And I can't go to BC.

Well, I guess you could have a friend drive a separate truck to pull the trailer and generator, but you'll need a longer cord unless it's all 4 lane roads where you travel and he can drive along side. But that's just silly. You'd be better off buying the larger EV that can tow the 5th wheel/generator. Who wants to go to BC anyway?

Driving on the highway is terrible around here.

People pass you then start driving slower than you were driving.

People randomly slow down from 70 to 45 for no reason.

If your Ford Explorer can't go more than 55, stay off the main highways where the speed limit is 70! Especially on a Monday afternoon at the end of a long weekend!

There's no kinda. Bit of a motto here that I've said to several friends who have all agreed. "People are trying to screw you. Act like it."

Now, not EVERYONE is trying to screw you, but there are plenty of people who will screw everyone they meet if given the opportunity. Defenses up, scrutinize everything, don't make deals that require faith in the other party, get everything in writing, and you can't say the wrong thing if you say nothing at all. Trust must be earned, and it shouldn't be an easy process. No one gets the benefit of the doubt.

Credit card fraud on my internet only CC. Good on Chase for only letting 1 charge go through, which I caught and they refunded, but good gosh the list of fraudulent charges they have caught this year is crazy.

Our friend's son had someone hack his bank account. Can't say Wells Fargo handled it as well as Chase. He called 3 times to report fraud, and they never closed or suspended his account. They actually treated him like he was trying to scam the bank. Finally took his Mom with him to a physical banking location (he's 19) and got someone competent. Should have been handled on the very first call (I suggested it was a partial inside job using WF fraud dept employees due to how they handled it - but we'll never know for sure). The good news is the gentleman at the brick and mortar location went to bat for him - this man had to explain to the fraud dept how they should be doing their job and exactly what he saw that proved it wasn't the client scamming the bank - and our friend will not lose any money. However, WF will lose a client.

Wells Fargo are shady and suck? Say it ain't so! I won't have anything to do with them. Way too many horror stories. Glad your friend and his family aren't losing anything on it.

The parking lot at the yard is a total of about 150' by 50'. This jackass pulls in with a 48' gooseneck and everybody in the parking lot is an asshole for being in his way. Probably a good thing I was already on my way out.

Why are you restricting this advice to only friends? Close colleagues (yes, there's a difference) should be aware and follow this as well.

I tend to state that relationships are built on trust, and to this point, you haven't given me the tools to build that.

Because I don't trust colleagues enough to let them know I am prepared for any of their knives in my back. I'd rather they didn't know that I see it coming. Say nothing and you won't say the wrong thing to the wrong person.
