Took the 29’ 23mk Forest river Gray Wolf to Gettysburg today. 57 miles. Average mpg was 8.6 in tow/haul mode. And I hit 95,000 miles today. Had a nice trouble free trip. Tomorrow I’ll put out all the lights in our site.

Did a local-ish test run of my Kodiak Canvas truck tent along with my XT250 for some dual sport adventuring I have planned in Wyoming this summer. Figuring out what I actually need versus what’s fluff.
I have a Teton cot with a matching foam mattress on it and I slept very comfortably, cots are definitely the way to go when car camping.

Mountain House breakfast skillet is surprisingly delicious. I plan on doing MH for hot breakfasts and dinners and making sandwiches or something along those lines for lunch. Easy and no dishes to clean.

    I like efficient and simple.

I’m so glad I sized up from my old Frontier, it makes adventures like this much more possible/comfortable.

My wife decided she wants a trailer this year and she's apparently got her heart set on a Shadow Cruiser S260BHS (used) or 240BHS (new) because she likes the layout.

Hooked up the 23 mk Forest river gray wolf camper to come home today. It rained 1/2 the time. At least I know I don’t have any leaks. When I got home I played around with the stabilizer hitch and got it a little more level. Next trip I’ll tweak a little more. 4B15C183-8555-4A91-A828-2199D8DBFC23.jpg4AF7DBEC-E1F6-4F89-905A-3C61EA7389AC.jpg

I talked to a guy at the campground pulling a nice 8,000 and something travel trailer. He says he has no problem. To me, that sounds like a lot. Especially when you add all your other stuff you take along. I’d say he was maxed out.

He was likely over payload. Tons of people have no idea what payload is, and tons of those that do know don't care and overload anyway. To each their own.

Wife and I found a 2018 Coachmen Freedom Express 25SE that we're seriously thinking of buying. Going to look at it again tomorrow. About 5250 lbs dry.

How you liking it? thinking about taking the plunge as the market seems to cool down a lot in Ontario.

I wanted one of those but they're asking like $55k for new ones here and I couldn't find a single used one for sale.

Damn, that's bit pricey I think out here in Ontario I see them from 58k and up depends what's optioned, I see quite few 2020s or 2019s that's barely used popping up for sale now, the novelty is wearing off and I also think free storage is coming to an end for folks bought new, I found these two:

    This one is in Alberta
    https://www.woodysrv.com/rv-inventory/used/travel-trailers/2018-grand-design-imagine-2400bh/621820/

This one is in Ontario for lot less.

I predict prices will drop towards the end of this summer. For the reasons above, high interest rates and the end of the pandemic. Gas prices aren't good for dragging a 3-4 ton barn around either.

The Tundra hauls it nicely. It's been in storage since April until I picked it up this past Monday in preparation for the May-24. Unfortunately, the gears are stripped on on of the lower tracks of the slide-out making it unusable (when the slide-out is in you can't access the bedroom). I have to get it back to the dealer for warranty work before I have even used it. Really disappointed with the dealer's PDI process (for several reasons) and their lackluster customer support.

Sadly, it's a 50K boat anchor for now......

Yikes, covid-quality is real, even on the Tundra I can see some stuff makes me raise my eyebrow, is this one by Orillia?

Orillia location indeed. I wouldn't buy from them again and I'm already questioning the Grand Design quality.

I hope it's just an issue with trailers they've built since 2020 because everyone else I've talked to with a GD rants and raves about how good they are.

We purchased a 2020 GD 22MLE back in February of 2020(right before Covid) and it was by far the best quality out of everything we looked at. We kept it for almost a year before selling. I think the only issues we had was a fan motor dying in the bathroom and a piece of trim came peeling away from the floor, 120 degree summers in Phoenix do that though. Nothing a nail couldn’t fix. It was a great camper for an amazing vacation in the redwoods. Once Covid hit, couldn’t really go anywhere because either restrictions or no availability. I don’t think we lost much when we sold it.

Right now we have a crawler hauler for camping duties. One day we will get an airstream.

I have a Grand Design, based on my research it’s the best quality at that price point.

Damn, I've heard some folks complain about the service, but the prices are damn good thou!

We've been looking for a while, post pandemic is definitely worse in terms of quality, lots of Jayco's interior trims looked glued on or don't even line up, I wished we have more choices in Canada.

I'm afraid the bar has been set pretty low by the large RV conglomerates we have today. Which makes it real easy for the better RV companies to be slighty better quality wise. Most all use the same fridges, stoves, water heaters etc. My Brother in law bought a new Entegra Class A and it even had an off brand TV in it.

We were looking at a 2018 Coachmen and the off brand TV was the only thing that didn't seem top notch (for an RV) to me.

The fridge was a brand I recognized but I can't remember if it was a Dometic or something else now.

We got our GeoPro almost a year ago, so it was a COVID build. I was fully prepared to have a list of issues to deal with but we lucked out and have not had a single quality issue.
