With the net? No. We caught a lot of catfish, one shark, and a three day buzz.

 

It is incredibly difficult in this day and age to know the absolute identity of anything or anyone. I did one of those 23 and Me ancestry things and it appears that I am 100% mutt through and through. I'm good with that.

This knife is a good example of an American designer (Andrew Demko) who collaborated with another American company (Cold Steel) who has their knives built in United States, Japan, mainland China, Taiwan, India, Italy and South Africa. I will always cheer for the home team.

 

Careful who you let handle your knives.

 

Love the Demko designs.
Cold Steel did really well with this one.
I’ve always been impressed by their blades.
The collaboration just made it better.

 

Cold Steel definitely build some burly knives. I'm like you, I think that Demko's designs are some of the best in the business. The AD-15 is definitely on the larger side for EDC, but great for hiking in heavy jeans or tossing in the backpack. The handmade Demko AD-15 is difficult and rare to come by, so I decided to get the Cold Steel model. It is probably 90% the same as the handmade, but only about 1/10th the price. They are on sale currently at Knife Center.

 

Thanks for sharing. Beautiful knife! I went to their website and it says designed in Portland, but it doesn't say where it is made. Does it say on the knife where it is made?

Beautiful knife! Looks like the scales could benefit from a fresh coat of oil to protect the wood. Maybe they are treated or stabilized and I just don’t know it though. @gosolo?

That’s like the reverse of what I’ve always said about Cuban seegars; just because it’s a Cuban, it doesn’t guarantee it’s a good seegar, but the absolute best seegars are definitely Cuban.
Just because the knife was made in China or Pakistan doesn’t guarantee it’s junk, but the best knives absolutely don’t come from China or Pakistan, lol.

 

I’ve got to bring out the pattern again and give it a loving rub.
It literally gets used every day.
It’s a beautiful workhorse.


None of my knives are display items.
They all get used well.

They’ll get tender lovin care and will look new again.
