This! I just upgraded to LEDs and it takes forever to lock with the FOB. What do I need to do?

Did anyone get a replacement LED from VLED or anywhere else to work in a 2020-2021 cargo light/3rd break light without causing the kfob interference?

I was have issues with mine. I replaced the cargo (white) lights and left the red brake, with these: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B084F9F2BL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

No issues with Key Fob range in my 2019 now.

i could be wrong but I thought I remember reading there was something specific to a 2020 (and 2021) that led to more issues. The receiver location changed or something to do with the any connect receiver?
Maybe I’m mixing up threads and issues (too much time late night on this forum).
I tried one set off Amazon and they had immediate interference, maybe I’ll try these instead.

    It could be.

I was having major issues with my the first set of LED's I put in the cargo bed lights. My range was about 5' from the truck. Since I switched them to the above linked ones, I am back to original range.

I swapped my LEDs off of my 2015, which I bought on eBay and have had no issues on my 2015 or 2021 Tundra. I saw this video on YT from Precision where they discuss the remote issue. They showed a fix though I do not know if it will work. I heard through the vine that Vleds did come up with a bulb that would not interfere though I have no personal knowledge. Good luck!

I'm to sure if this related. But I have a 2019 Double Cab. I bought VLEDS for my cargo (third light). My old LEDs did interfere with the FOB. Bought them off Amazon from another manufacturer. But when I installed the VLEDs in December 2019, they fixed the issue. Fast Forward to last week (Jan 2021) and both VLEDs just blink when I turn on the light. They eventually just went out. I spoke to VLEDs today and they said there's a component on the LED that goes out. They've had other people call them about it. It won't be months until the issue is found and resolved.

Installed the cargo lights and 3rd brake light from headlight revolution. They are made specifically to address this issue. I have had no issues with mine at all on my 2020

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what fuse is the one for the cargo lights? 3rd brake light works but no cargo lights, Yes I checked inside to make sure switch is on. Just don't know what fuse it is. I replaced the inside lights with led lights and they work awesome.

    Thanks

I have Vleds in my 2020. What issues is everyone having with them? I don't seem to have any issues with locking my doors. For those with issues, what happens if you have your cargo light switch turned off?

What bulbs did you have issues with and what did they send you? I have Vleds in mine. I took them out of my 2013 and put them in my 2020. They are about 2 years old or so. I don't seem to have any range issue.

Which ones do you have. I have the High Output ones that are like 850 lumens. I did notice that one of them intermittently flickers on and off. I haven't pulled the lens yet to look at it and see if it is loose or not.

VLEDS did say that they're having everyone return their bulbs because there is an issue. I returned mine last week and have to wait until they fix the issue.

I'll call them today and ask about the issue. I need to call them anyway for the V6 Triton that won't fit the wifes 4Runner.

    Never stopping ...
I just love the forum !
I upgraded my 3 brake light/cargo lights to led but never used the open door cargo light on switch ,but when I did I had problems using my key fob , after a 2min search on the forum I found out it the leds causing the problem so I turned the cargo lights off with the switch, problem solved

I bought some in December. Stopped working in January. They sent me some in March and asked me to test the new ones. They still work so far. I guess the batch I got in December had issues that they needed to go back and test. They asked me if they were still working and I told them yes.

It's not the bulbs themselves. I believe some have had issues with interference issues with the key fob.

yeah. been almost a year and it's still working. Although I did notice that one of the sides is brighter than the other. Kind of like part of the bulb isn't working. But it just may have been the angle I was at. I'll have to look tonight and I can let you know. I may need to contact them.

Funny you posted about the VLEDS. I created another post about external lights and what others are doing. I spoke to VLEDS yesterday about the license plate bar light and that seemed like a good idea for brighter back up lights. I was going to try the bed rack and adding ditch lights to that for camping/outdoors when i'm in the middle of no where. But I'm not sure yet.

I just spoke to VLEDS and they're sending me new bulbs. I guess the bulbs are made with some type of lights on a ribbon and part of it may have gone out. They come with a 3 year warranty. But besides that issue, I'm happy with it. didn't effect the use of my key fob like the cheaper kinds. And it was bright as heck. Helped when it was dark and needed to see in my bed. I'm kind of looking for a set up so i can use lights outside the bed too.

Good luck with that set up. I know VLEDS is having that 20% off now.

The Vled non-RF leds for the cargo are okay, they aren't that bright. I am taking mine out and putting my high output (also vleds) back in and just leaving the switch off until needed. Tomorrow evening I will take comparison shots between the 2 bulbs.

I'll take some halogen pics too. It is brighter than the halogen, but not as bright as the high output. It may be good enough for your use. I'm obsessed with leds and light bars so I like the extremely bright stuff lol....just ask some of the guys in the forum. I have about 5,000 lumens on the rear and about 40,000 on the front :D

Vleds is good stuff. I have been using them since 2012. I just installed their tail light conversion about a month and a half ago.

These are good lights and do not cause RF interference with door locking. And I've been using them since getting my 21 Pro a year ago. However, they have proven to not last longer than 4-6 months for me. In the little over a year I've had my truck, I've had to change one of two lights twice. First time, VLED sent me a free replacement when the left cargo light went out after less than 3 months. And then, the same replacement bulb I received died again after about 4 months. I have since returned to the stock halogens and waiting to see what I want to do. These bulbs are expensive at $30 per, and I should not be getting a new replacement every 4-6 months!
