I just got a 2008 5.7L Double Cab Tundra and im looking at getting the OME 612 lift kit on toytec. I was going to keep stock control arms and wanted a little rake still. Can I keep stock control arms and should I do 1” or 1.5” for the rear?

I also read that I need to get a coachbuilder carrier bearing drop kit for correct alignment.

can anyone confirm this setup or make recommendations? I would probably get the adjustable control arms later if I can in a year or two.

below is the list of items I am looking to get.

    Summary
    • Front Shocks:
      2 x OME-90018 - (1) OME Nitrocharger Sport Shock for 07+ Tundra
    • Front Coils:
      1 x OME-612 Front Coils (07+ Tundra)
    • Assemble front shocks/coils with new hardware:
      1 x TMP-07 - Top Mount Kit (includes assembly)
    • Front diff drop:
      1 x RM83012 / TU-DR-07 - Front Differential Drop Kit for 4x4 07+ Tundra / 08+ Sequoia
    • Rear Lift:
      1 x BK-1 - Toytec Rear 1 inch Block Kit (includes U-bolts)
    • Rear Shocks:
2 x 60100 - Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Sport Rear shock (07+ Tundra)
      Rear Shocks:
    • COACHBUILDER CARRIER BEARING DROP KIT ( REAR LIFT 0”-2” ) TUNDRA 2007-20
    • 275/70/18 Cooper AT3 or BFG KO2

I run OME on my 4runner, kept the stock UCA and still get good alignment. Adding them however will better alignment and drivability. Not absolutely required and you can add them at a later date if needed. Had that suspension on the 4runner for many years and 80k miles now, still rides, looks and performs great.

OME tends to run higher than advertised. So they list 2.5 lift, will be probably 2.75. For rake, shackles you list will work fine, 1 inch lift in back will be slight rake, 1.5 will be little closer to stock rake, but not quite. Stock rake is 2 inches.

Shackles can cause the leafs to wear prematurely, depending on how you use your truck. Street, light haul and tow, they are great and better than add a leaf since they won't jack up the ride. If you haul and tow more often I suggest you look at RAS. Activesuspension.com. Installed it lifts the rear about an inch and supports the leafs, no harsh impact on ride, more stable towing and hauling. You will need a carrier bearing drop when lifting the rear.

you'll be fine with stock UCAs and a 1" lift.

Ok thanks I only plan to tow smaller loads and not very often. Maybe 3000-4000lbs less than a dozen times a year probably. Do you think I would need that RAS?
