Hello anyone who can help! I am concerned about a flashing 4 lo light, and a traction light is on too. Off and on have had engine light on, and dealer service tells me not to worry.
This just happened yesterday, not using 4WD—just leaving the vet hospital parking lot in Columbia MO. Weather dry and cool.
I do need a new pair of tires.
Any reason these lights are on?
I did not feel any weird shaking while driving—seems to be in 2 WD. So all these on: 4 lo, traction, and engine light. OH! And testing the knob on the dash—hard to move it btwn 4 lo and 4 hi
    Thanks,
    Donna

Have an autoparts store read the codes that are stored. If you took it to the dealer and they said not to worry, it's time to never return to that dealership again.

Moving between 4 hi and 4 lo you are supposed to be in neutral and push in the knob. Did you move the knob while driving or anything? What position is the knob in now? We’re you just driving normal when this happened?

Ok TY—I did not do it proper—in fact the guy I had on the phone (dealership service advisor) had me drive it and test the 4 WD while slow moving through a side street——
And I also did not know I should test it monthly! Damn!
Do you think I damaged something?

Also this dealership that said not to worry about the check engine light—I have had it on and off for at least a year—and they checked it and said a part was faulty that has to do with emissions—and my truck just HAD to pass emissions in August—and it did w/o replacing the faulty part—I would need to find the old receipt to find the name of that-
And so far THANK YOU ALL for not just helping me but also teaching me!

The problem with "just emissions" is that when something else fails that may be more important, you may look at the light and still believe it's just emissions...

Did you get a Owner's Manual with your truck?

Yes I did get an owners manual. Obviously I’m not very good at truck knowledge, although I do get everything done maintenance wise on time…

And yes I do hear what you were saying about the omissions being on and other lights too. It surprised me to hear that. I never had a truck do that before….

AND I am planning to go to an auto parts store in about an hour and a half, so maybe I will have some info around 3–central time—I’m in St. Louis MO

If the dealership saw those codes and sent you on your way, that's gross incompetence to say the least!

You may have a purge valve stuck open, but if you're not super comfortable doing a lot of diagnosis, a decent independent shop will be able to fire off each piece of your emissions system and figure out what's not working.

Do not drive the truck much like this though!

    Very near Mt. Rainier
    Vehicle:
    2010 Dbl 5.7 145k bought it 7/21 for 18k
Color mismatched LEER canopy, cheap running boards, LED reverse lights so nobody can stand behind and direct me
So today I started the truck and got the cel, slip lights on and the 4lo flashing which on the chart says transfer case failure, wiring harness and ecu replaced. Indeed I can't seem to shift into 4 lo from 4 hi which works fine. Could this problem be anything from the switch on down to the hardware? I am planning on changing the fluids in the "diffs and transfer case?" this week. Could rats have eaten the harness to cause this, dang rats causing all types of problems here. Is it ok to drive unfixed for now as I troubleshoot? Tow a trailer around town? Thanks

edit:Oh yeah code p033d -No description (iso/sae controlled code (core DTC)- not too helpful imo
