Really hoping to buy one and can post on here soon.

Looking to do buy from distance here in Western Canada for 2010+ RCSB ...do folks buying from a distance place a deposit/e transfer and offer from a distance subject to the prospective buyer inspection? Wondering as these sell very fast around here.

I bought mine sight unseen through a listing on CarGurus. Had photos of course and a Carfax, and it was from a Toyota dealership in Arizona - which is to say that the risk was far less than say a Craigslist or classifieds purchase. It cost me a little to ship, but I’d do it again the same way given similar circumstances. I was pretty confident in what I was getting (and not getting … a rust bucket).

There are a couple of nice RCSBs on CarGurus at the moment - both in New Hampshire. I’d be wary of something coming out of the North East, though one of the two states it has only 25k miles, the other 75k but looks cleaner and has 0 accident reports. Still, I’d get copious amounts of underbody photos and probably figure a way to have it inspected unless you’re confident in the seller and the vehicles relative history.

Thanks for the input. Never thought of underbody shots!

Hello everyone, cheers from SoFlo. Really happy with my new 07 TRD Off-road package RCSB Tundra, it was from an officer from the FHP in really good condition, clean Carfax/title. Right now with 72700 miles, its my daily, Was looking for the 4.7 engine for almost ten years and finally found her.(love the 5.7 but gas price it’s crazy rn. Already ordered a ton of parts (sound system and front clip from a 2016 to do the facelift). Yesterday received the SOS Tundra Performance dropping kit with the shorter shocks for the rear and today found the trd sway bar locally on the marketplace. Planning on changing the wheels and tires for 20 or 22’s with highway tires, never tow or used the bed except for my bikes and motorcycle. Thanks for accepting me here, blessings you all.

    Sick looking truck.

But for the record.. Gas mileage is pretty much the same between the 4.7 and 5.7.

Really? Waoo I tough with the small engine and street tires the mpg could be greatly improved, let’s see… my best friend has the 5.7L and he said the 4.7L has better mpg, I’m coming from a Chevy RCSB 4.8L and the mpg it’s pretty much the same, let’s see after the mods how it’ll perform. Thanks again and honestly I’m really happy with the overall performance of my truck. Drive safe everyone.

Smaller motor has to work harder to move the same weight. In some cases the bigger motor actually gets better MPG than the smaller being that it doesn't have to work as hard. I know this was the case on a friends F150 a while back.

In my own experience with Chevy trucks there’s a big difference in MPG in between 5.3L and 4.8L only 500cc difference, being both RCSB the 4.8L was noticeable better mpg. Another fact in mpg is the actual driving styles, heavy or light gas foot. Many variables.

At least with Tundras I know they're very close. I have one of each here. A 4.6 DoubleCab and my 5.7 RCSB.

But you can’t compare a double cab with a single cab, in that case applies perfectly the small engine will have to work way more to move the weight, anyone here had compare both tundras rcsb mpg with different engines?

I mean. I also have a 5.7 DoubleCab as well and it gets relatively the same as the RCSB... (Yes I have 3 Tundras here). Was just trying to compare the two motors.

Nice to have them all and be able to do the comparison in mpg, really interesting. What I don’t understand is why Toyota will launch three different engines in the same platform, i see the difference in between 6 and 8 cylinders, but if the fuel consumption it’s pretty much the same in two V8 engines 5.7 and 4.7 why not only sell the V6 4.0 and the V8 5.7L? What type of customer was the 4.7L created for? Nice to know. I saw a comparison from a guy with a really good knowledge in Tundras about both engines (not exactly apple’s to apple’s but really interesting) https://youtu.be/uZxyvdMWXXg

Remember the 4.7 v8 (2UZ) was only in the 2nd gen Tundra from 2007-2009. After that it's the 4.6l V8 (1UR). That's what the black one has. Then the white one and purple one have the 5.7l V8 (3UR). I don't have any personal experience with the 4.7 V8 that you have.

Where in South Florida are you? Looks like you're in the Pompano area possibly in those pics.

Thanks. I was just going through your build. Yours is sweet! I always had an idea of mine looking like that but this came lifted and I don't care to change the suspension haha

I can't wait to swap out the rear, too. I never liked the 07-13 body lines and headlights and taillights.

That would look really clean and compliment the front end (wheel arches, etc) nicely.

I’ve been curious to know if this RCSB belongs (used to belong) to anyone here?

Asking price is on the high side, until you realize it’s setup with a rear locker and supercharger, low miles, and appears to be in pretty great shape. I’m not in the market, but if I didn’t already own the one I’ve got, I’d be contemplating an offer.
