I have Cooper maxx and are doing well but way too loud....need to check out the AT model next time. I am considering Nitto terra grapplers as an alternative but hearing about issues....

I had such a great experience with a set of E load Nitto G2s on my old 4Runner that I’m considering giving them a shot whenever my Duratracs wear out. They weren’t as aggressive looking (which means they weren’t as heavy) but they were quiet on the highway and handled off-roading at 18psi like total champs. I had 50k on them when I traded the 4Runner in on my Tundra, and they still had 10-15k miles left in them.

This was in stark contrast to everyone’s experience with the P-rated G2s that came on the TRD Pro 4Runner. Nobody liked those because they didn’t hold up off road.

Continental terraincontact A/T they have been very good on my truck. Mostly highway and they are quiet and have enough grip.

Hey that’s narrower than OEM for the 2nd gens. Do you squeeze out a few extra 0.1s with those bad boys? Lol

I see. I remember some guys talking about going narrower for efficiency. The now perma-banned Rex Kramer was one.

Interesting note: on at least some trim levels, the 3rd gen Tundra comes with 265 width tires.

I am liking my Nittos so far… there is a small hum when driving but they are the same decible level as what I had before… I like the look at them and they have done great so far on the small trucks off-road that I do.
