Do you still have the BOSS setup?

I am thinking of going with the Aluma 2.0 BOSS series. I only have 5K on truck and have in coil spacers. For the money, I just want to be sure I will get an upgrade over stock.

honestly, I think you’d get a solid upgrade over spacers and/or stock.
Best part is Toytec valve their shocks specifically for Toyota. The ride is definitely noticeably smoother than stock/spacers.

Is there a consensus on when you need to get an upper control arm?

    The amount of lift?

Typically, the more you lift (by pushing down on the control arm assembly) the harder it is to align. The consensus is that 3” of lift (using spacers or coilovers) may require aftermarket UCAs for better alignment, but some Tundras are fine while others may need them with just 2.5” of lift. Another issue that might justify aftermarket UCAs is that a spacer or coilover lift can result in the stock UCA hitting the coil springs during downtravel. Those are the two main reasons I’m aware of, but I’m speaking with admittedly no experience with them. I am considering a pair, though, as I want to go up to about 2.75” to 3” of lift later. I think they’ll give me peace of mind with alignment numbers and coil spring clearance during any excessive down travel.

I have a 2019 with the supreme suspension leveling kit , 3” spacers on front and 2” blocks in back ... rear end bottoms out when hit railroad tracks and such ... do you know what size I would need to go to on rear shocks ? The installer even said they had to stretch them to get them to near bottoming out to get back on truck

    @csuviper

I am currently running 6112 / 5160 with toytec shackles.

about to install icon stage 9. Should I revert back to "stock" shackles with the RXT leaf pack or should I keep the toytec shackles? Will the combination of the new leaf pack and shackles add to each other as a lift? For example, toytec shack is 1" and the leaf pack is 1.75".. so if combining, using together, would I be looking at 2.75"?

Had to inquire with Toytec as I have never installed the RTX. They said it will look great with the Toytec shackle still installed. They have done a few installs like that.

Hopefully a good place to ask some questions:

I just picked up a TRD Pro Fox kit for my Tundra and plan to add .5 coach builder shims in the front giving me 3.5”. This set up leaves my rear at a stock height correct? I wouldn’t mind a little rake, but when fully loaded with tent and gear I would be sagging quite a bit I presume. Considering doing a shackle +1.5 in the rear?

With this set up - do I need to make any other major modification? Maybe UCAs, Diff drop, center carrier bearing drop kit?
I may hold off on shims, UCAs and all of that until I am ready for the jump to 35s in about 20k miles.

If anyone has thoughts - open to the idea. Not set on anything but I would like some more lift for off-roading and a bump in tire size.

    TIA

Coachbuilder is a great option but I would also look at the Westscott Desigins preload collar as well. Similar concept of lifting the Pro Fox coils but different application. While I have never used, they have a great reputation just like Coachbuilder. Someone else may be able to chime in on the pros and cons of adding preload collars vs shims between the body and coils.

You are correct in that the shims up front wont lift the rear at all. Getting some shackles is a good idea if you are wanting to avoid sag. Other ideas would be air bags or replacing the leaf pack entirely.

You may be forced into new UCA's with that much lift up front but every truck is different. Some great options in all price ranges out there. Diff drop is a nice to have. I never did the carrier bearing drop but that seems to be necessary on a case by case scenarion.

    Hope that helps!

I would question why you want that much lift to begin with. When you go over 3” you need to consider diff drop and arms and Carolina Squat vs rake and some other stuff.

You can easily fit 35s without lift, and you can not-super-easily fit 37s. It’s a matter of what you want from the truck.

If you just want it to look big and burly, then a high lift and big tires is great for that.

If you want it to perform better off road, then a low lift and bigger tires is great.

For reference, our old setup of 2” lift with 37x13.5 on +25 offset wheels. Stock uppers and lowers, just a Toytec BOSS coilover up front and a 1” block out back plus some trimming on the buddy mount and pinch weld.

Now, with 1.5” lift, 37x12.5 on -5 offset beadlocks, requires glass fenders, adjustable upper, lots more trimming and tricky alignment.

I have the RTX springs option 2 and it has worked great for me. Way smoother offroad and yet still smooth on pavement. Can tow really well also since it's a little stiffer than stock. I tried option 1 and it was way too soft for me.

I just fitted deaver U748’s to my tundra and it’s so high rite now. I don’t know how guys are getting away with adding a leaf pack such as deaver to the rear of the truck and still being close to level or even slight rake! Mine was sitting 2” lower at the front I leveled of the truck and now all my cv angles and drive angles at extreme! After all the cost it’s bothering me that much I’m going to take the leafs out completely! They just are way to extreme!

I've read up on lifts and leveling. I'm pretty sure this is correct, but I'd like confirmation before purchase...I'm use to lowering cars, not lifting trucks.

First off, I don't off road. (Drove through a hay field to load an atv at the pond once in the 3 years I've owned the truck.)

I want to keep/improve my stock ride.
I'm wanting to level, MAYBE 2" lift as an option.
    Current suspension is full stock.
    2013 tundra sr5 crewmax 4wd TRD offroad.
I don't want to compromise towing or hauling weights. (Atvs/utility trailer)

I'm leaning towards the 5100- possibility the 6112. No immediate plans for wheels and tires, but it'd be a nice option to adjust the existing suspension if/when I did.

The main goal is a sleek level look that's reliable for the long term and has the option to lift upon future mods.

This guide is awesome, but I’m still not 100% of I can do what I’m looking to do. I’m currently running 305/55r20 tires on 10x9+1” wheels with a 2.5” front spacer lift. I’m about to pay her off and want to upgraded to 35” tires to kind of fill in the well more and provide more cushion. I’m wondering how much lift I need to squeeze 35” tires in there with my current wheel offset and hopefully avoid any chopping. Would ICON Stage 2 at the max 3.5” front and 1.5” rear lift setting get me by? Would the tires “fill” up the wheel well more or would I still be at about the same spacing as my current setup?
