Does 303 restore, or just maintain color?

    +1 for the 303 protectant.

Doesn't give you that white chalky look after a week like armorall etc...

My truck has been kicked out of the garage for several months while I take care of some other projects. I noticed today how badly the front trim at the cowl, under the windshield, was faded to nearly white. I figured id just replace it, guessing it would be $150-$200? wrong... I looked up the part number 55708-0C061 (DC), that sucker lists between $315-$450 before shipping depending on the site, ouch.

    (edited for part number correction)

We have 4 Tundras in my family and friends circle and they all do that right there below the windshield. That's one of my few complaints with these trucks is the quality of materials used in situations like you mention. You can get it back close to original with a quality exterior trim restorer but even those are just temporary fixes and you will have to apply at some point.

    Most vehicles do this.
Solution Finish will have it like new very easily.
To keep it from happening in the future, try Shine Supply Trim Shield.

Gtechniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer - I have used it for a few years, works very well. Chemical guys makes a similar product I tried that one one section to see how it looks. Only did it today, looks brand new. WHether or not it is as good as Gtech, can't say.

Add one more for a 303 user. It works great on vinyl, rubber, plastic and is one of the few products in my life where the manufacturer's description seems accurate. It does not restore badly faded items, but will keep parts in good shape for as long as you use it, maybe once every 3 - 6 months. Perhaps try a restorer suggested above, then keep using 303.

Anyone with pictures of 303 or the VRT used for comparison with what driverdog has been using? I need to start putting something on my truck that is just over a year old to maintain it before the weather and sun start getting the best of it.

Mine is faded too! I don’t care though, doesn’t take anything away from the looks. All things age, I still enjoy it the same.

Took mine off and painted with flat black plastic paint. Easy to remove easy to paint. I did scuff it up by wet sanding a little though

Man, I love this forum. I noticed mine doing the same recently. Now I have a couple of solutions. Mine is mostly in the garage and only a few years old, but I guess the sun/weather had enough opportunity to do it's dirty work.
